Sasha is dead, isn't she?
Fucking love Light here.
I had to read the manga and devoured every chapter in a matter of hours since the world-building, unfolding secrets, and revenge plot are so captivating, even though the battles in this anime suck (even in later arcs). The animation and OST are decent, but given the studio, I'm worried about what might happen if they choose to adapt any potential for the upcoming season (RIP One-Punch Man 3).
first, the studio doesn't "choose". second J.C. Staff is a good studio
You're right that "choose" wasn't the best term, but I think it's obvious what I meant. I did not claim that J.C. is a bad studio. I hope you're not trying to misrepresent my comment that way or suggesting that I stated that. I'm merely expressing my worry (since I do like the anime/manga) and providing solid evidence of my worry. I even praised the animation, which makes me think this anime had more time/budget than One Punch Man 3.
The 12-episode anime that has a pacing as if it was One Piece.
The whole thing looks good and when something actually happens, it's rather enjoyable... But there's just so much yapping in between actual events that it just tires me out.
Also, I don't get why Light fights like this. He's supposed to be several times stronger than his enemies but he's just running and jumping around. And when he actually demonstrates the overwhelming difference between them, he does it with a weapon that damages him as well.
Sasha: Summons Arch-Angel "Look, the shining form of the highest of angels!"
Light's honest reaction: "This angel is your strongest trump card? I'm speechless."
But seriously, this gave me the same vibe as Ainz versus the Sunlight Scripture, they summon lower level angels, Ainz easily defeats them, they summon their highest angel, Ainz is in shambles because of how ridiculously under leveled they are and defeats the angel
Am I the only one who enjoys the dialogue? Every time I go into a discussion thread for this show, I just see people talking about how nothing happened and how the pace is awful. I feel like I've been through worse. For me, it feels like the episodes just end when we get to the good part.
My favorite part about this show is the stupid antics that Light and his servants get up to... but I've learned to just accept the edginess at this point. I feel like the show would be better without the edginess, but I understand that I'm barking up the wrong tree.
I wonder why Light decided to pull out the ultimate weapon that damages even himself. Is this even the ultimate weapon?? The worldbuilding in this show is actually quite interesting (aside from pulling people from gacha) so I want to see where that goes.
Not going to be surprised if Gacha has more in store, but how deep can you go when you're already at the bottom of the Abyss?
Exactly. This was my biggest concern with this series
If you're at a defined level cap (which we don't know yet, but we can imply), what room is there to grow? How can anything progress from here?
This is why I hope the series explores other areas such as Maestros and other cheat skills. As it is now, it's just a showcase of power rather than a journey of growth.
So the reason I said
Waste of episode, pretty much nothing happened
Is that in this episode there were 2 (3 if you stretch) new things told, what could have done in ~5min
And one thing I love yapping series, political and general, if it just would build world (Example what political and world yapping slime has) but in this is just feels and seems to be paper thin elevator yapping.
Be that as it may, I feel like "pretty much nothing happened" is a stretch. Given what you said, if more concepts were introduced throughout the episode, I feel like it would end up being an information overload.
The first 9 minutes of this episode shows off Nazuna's talent against Hardy. This fight tells us a couple of things
The next 3 minutes is dialogue revealing Light's identity to Sasha with the never edgy enough "I stopped aging so I can feel the pain that I felt that day >:) ." Nothing will change the fact that I think this is corny.
Then the rest of the episode is fights that establish how Sasha's fiancé is with her for the items, item mechanisms, more skills, and of course, Gungnir.
So, in the end, I feel like a lot actually happened. I was engaged the entire episode.
I find it funny people find the dialogue annoying. Personally I think it fits just fine. The dialogue really helps to build character; even a little. Shows there's more to glasses elf than meets the eye.
And the banter between Nazuna and Ellie was funny af.
Good shit; I'm hoping we get a second season!
damn, gotta admit that anyone other than mc and his high level army, would have a nearly impossible chance agains't such a combo of angels and shields, geez
also damn, Light sre is enjoying his time, not even caring about his arm being on fire lol
and ofc, a word for Nazuna and Ellie ... i couldn't stop laughing when Nazuna beat that knight and broke the wall with her warm-up attack ... and i also couldn't stop laughing at Ellie's shaking legs after that hahaha
