Shiori finally opens up to Hinako about the moment they first met ten years ago, as well as the true nature of her wish. All Shiori ever wanted was for Hinako to stay alive. As an excuse to ensure her survival, she simply spoke the words Hinako wanted to hear. After listening to Shiori’s confession, Hinako cries out to her, telling her to leave her alone.
Shiori... it's one thing to ask Hinako to stay alive, but asking her to go back to 'her previous' self is the most insensitive thing ever... and I'm all for it. Toxic Yuri is Toxic. Can't wait for Shiori to die before Hinako.
I actually thought this was going to be the last episode considering it the 12 count lol, anyways... looking forward for the season finale.
I'm actually hoping this season ends all melancholic.

Today's end card was drawn by Arina Tanemura!
Hope you all enjoyed the episode!
Shiori is a good psychiatrist, she has prevented Hinako from dying, with another promise. It takes a lot of genius to convince a suicidal person not to do suicide, and the mermaid was able to do a temporary solution.
would be better if Shiori also start to live in the house. Having company would help remove stress for Hinako.
and I like that Shiori still keep the seashell Hinako gave her years ago. It seems she turned it to hairclips with mermaid magic. I did not read the manga, just a hunch.
sad, it's just one episode left.
no she is ABSOLUTELY not LMFAO
but i WILL say this she DID successfully diffuse a suicide attempt which is like one of the first and only successful good things she's done so far for Hinako's mental health, the issue is the way she diffused it made her "patient" even MORE suicidal by giving her the promise of death, essentially right now Hinako is standing over the edge of a building with Shiori eating her being her hitting the ground, it's just a REALLY slow death and over time her stewing in that death waiting for it is only gonna make it harder to convince her out of it later on and if they don't explain away Shiori not eating her later on in a good way Hinako will not hesitate to end her life on her terms and this time she will NOT take no for an answer
props to the artist because i've seen that expression Hinako had on her face at the end here before, that really weird sad happiness expression, the face of somebody saying their goodbyes and tying up loose ends because they are resolved to end it, it is a VERY scary face, Hinako only attempted because the opportunity presented itself and it felt like her family was calling for her, she wasn't quite prepared to off herself yet but the chance came up, NOW is different, she is dead set on it and prepared, just waiting for it to happen
It feels like we're back to square one, or maybe even worse, but I'm sure Shiori will find a way to resolve the situation, even if it means losing her life. If Hinako found true happiness, she would sacrifice herself without a second thought. However, I don't think this happens in the final episode.
I feel like Shiori sacrificing herself would make things just worse for Hinako's psyche, she wouldn't just lose one of the few remaining life lines she has (those being only Shiori and Miko), it would mean Shiori would've not kept her word again. The thing is something with a sacrifice could very well be likely considering the opening is literally called "Sacrifice"
The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Shiori truly wanted the best for Hinako but her actions, and to an extent, her inactions have caused things to go down this direction that resulted in this ultimatum. I think you could argue that she shouldn't have given Hinako her blood, or she should've been guarding Hinako ever since she was little to prevent her family from getting into an accident, or she should've never promised that she would've taken Hinako's life but that's all easy to say in hindsight. It's easy to say that she could've thought about her actions more before doing them but at the end of the day she's a yokai with zero interpersonal skills. The only thing she knows is that she wants to see Hinako smile again. She utilized the methods that, in her head, would lead to that conclusion but unfortunately it all ended up going in the opposite direction.
I think this deal was the only possible outcome in this situation. The trust has been broken beyond repair, Hinako has sunk to the lowest depth of her mind, and Shiori doesn't have the conversational skills to pierce through Hinako's heart. It's a deal that fulfills both of their selfish desires but it's also one that strips everything away from them. I'm not sure what the exact terms are or what the consequences are if the pact is broken. It sounds like Shiori will take Hinako's life away when she's at her happiest but who's to say she won't take her own first? If she can't take her own life, what if Miko sacrifices herself and takes both her own and Shiori's? There's definitely still too many unknowns but this resolution keeps the tension in the show and the overall theme of the show going. I was wondering where it would go once Hinako found out that Shiori wouldn't take her life anymore and this basically answers that.
Shiori has definitely come full circle for me and to be quite honest she's become my favorite character in the show. I found her to be a bit arrogant and annoying at first but as we started to peel the layers back into her true self, I started to realize that she's a good person that's completely misunderstood due to her inability to truly express herself. She's willing to become the bad guy if that means it will save Hinako. She's willing to sacrifice everything she lives for just to see Hinako smile and live a happy life. A part of me hopes for a happy ending but another part of me wants the heart wrenching reality of self sacrifice. I think it's rare to see a darker ending to a story but I feel that if it's truly done proper, it's able to leave a lasting impression that supersedes a happy one.
