What the hell!? It felt like a 10 minutes bruh. I was so invested that it really felt so short, nah 24 minutes is not enough bruh, this has too much suspense, thriller. I am liking this🌟 genuinely at first I thought this is going to be a 'Tomodachi game' type where player dies in every ep but I was wrong. And in today's episode the most annoying character reward goes to our group leader Mishiro. Thriller, Thriller night!!
But blasting off by a landmine and lying down like a doll with lost of fiber coming out of you, that's laughableಥ‿ಥ
Yea, i was a bit fearful they won't be able to keep up the same level of suspence and atmosphere as ep1 but it seems that they can, this was great, i wonder if this is really the past or Yuki just lying about it being her 10th game to be less suspicious i guess
Also thought that might be the case, but I do feel like in her 28th game she was way more confident, and I don't think she would let herself be stepped on like this by another player + I don't see how lying helps her in these games.
When you rewatch 28th game you would notice that she managed to gain control relatively quickly and opened by saying she is altruistic and that she will get everyone through. Noone at that point opposed her. It would be only AFTER someone did act outside of her control where the first death occured.
I mean your other comment was reading like you knew the source material so this is kinda pointless, apologies if thats not the case, if not, this easily could be explained with that in the 1st game everyone else was new, in their 1st or 2nd game and here all the others knew each other and were experienced so maybe thats why she decided to lower her expirience cuz if you're on your first game you dont know shit and having someone with experience is a plus, if you're on your 10th game you already know that to win you sometimes have to fuck others over having someone who won 28 times is not such a good thing
It is important to note that this is a 10th game and episode one was 28th. You can see it in behaviour of Yuki. If you look back and watch the #1 you would notice that she quickly managed to get the leading position, and ensure that EVERYONE would follow her with this altruistic approach but we know how it ended in reality. Now she is an inexperienced player who is being outclassed by someone with a stronger presence, and it is quite possiblke that Michiro won the trust of others in recent games to the point noone would oppose her anymore.
This is dangerous for the game they are playing as the lead can simply order around people to step on landmines and whatnot while being safe herself. Not only that but she villianized Yuki in front of others by calling her a liar, which puts our protag at an disadvantage.
this episode felt so fast that I had to turn it back to check if I hadn't skipped anything lol
good episode thia week, and it's interesting that it's not on chronological order, seeing that the first episode as yuki's 28th game, and this episode she's on her 10th game (she might be lying, but I don't think she'd do it)
One episode per week is not enough! ;-;
It’s great to see that the atmosphere from the first episode is still there, and showing games she took part in in the past is a great idea.
We don’t really fear for her life, but we get to see how she develops her skills for the present (and maybe how she’s going to gather allies for future rounds of the game).
REALLY GOOD! I had concerns they wouldn't be able to keep me interested for an entire season. But if we're going through Yuki's past too, not just a chronological start to end type of show, I think that really helps.
Such good suspense, the eerie feeling that exists due to the circumstances and tension between characters is great. The presentation of this show and the style / animation is perfect for this.
BUT, one flaw. It went by TOO QUICK. I was so immersed and locked in that this flew by, desparately need more because it's 100% my surprise package of the Winter Season.
The first episode really did a great job of keeping me on edge, I spent the whole episode wondering when a bunch of them would die. I like getting to see Yuki in an earlier game, we get to find out how her mentality changes which is neat.
I'm guessing the group of 3 she split off from are going to die, what I'm wondering is if she intends on trying to save Kotoha since she said she was still alive. I wouldn't be surprised with either choice, but trying to save her does seem like something she might do.
Another great episode, although now I wish all the episodes were 48 minutes cuz DAMN IT I NEED MORE!!!
I liked seeing Yuki when she was less experienced and seeing her get challenged by the groups dynamic, and the artstyle and tension are still as strong as ever! Also, I love the new ED, very nice!
I wonder if any of the surviving characters apart from Yuki will become recurring ones, or if the show is gonna soley focus it's development on Yuki herself?
Great ep
She looks younger, this gotta be a past game (obv bc of # of games that she stated). Tho, I thought it was the next game based on the fact that she was questioning how to pray when she said "God in heaven", which looked to be sum that she learned from Kinko. Tho, she stopped Kinko from praying. So this is definitely a past game. Director must be doing this for a specific reason to not keep the story linear.
Damn, Blonde annoying asl and the ep just started lol.
Considering how the rest of the group are acting, Blonde as a leader is effective, but too cocky abt her abilities and is quite forceful with no regard for feelings besides herself.
They wasn't tryna listen and got Green boomed up. Good job Blonde. Such a great leader u are.
Yuki might seem emotionless, but she can definitely lead the team better. Real interesting that Blonde won't trust the person with the proclaimed 10 games to her name, but Yuki is forced to trust those with 8,5, 4, 6 games to their name. Quite naive along with way of thinking after seeing that Green is apparently dead. Can't wait to see Blonde get humbled, hopefully.
So now Yuki is with Green. Wonder how the series will go now.
9.5/10
Does the manga deviate from the LN or something bcz I'm pretty sure there was a different game there after the 28th game and it definetely wasn't this.
Mishiro is annoying and arrogant, I hope she'll die, though it does seem like it will be the case judging from Yuki's reaction how they didn't grasp the game at all
So... Does anyone know what the 0/33 and stuff are meant to be?
not to be too morbid but either way the blonde is an idiot, even IF she's really dead she's useful as a tool to deal with the landmines, either to do what she was TRYING to do with shifting the weight to get off the mine or to explode a mine you see before going forward if you REALLY need to
not to mention if there's some kind of requirement to complete the game involving needing a certain amount of "people" or something like we saw last episode, like you need enough people or weight or something to say you cleared the game successfully and her corpse could potentially count towards that
OR if it's exactly like the last game where a certain amount of people need to die then you just left somebody ALIVE, ALL the way up on the second floor and would either need to backtrack to kill her or kill one of the people that made it and lose one more person then you needed to because you can't wait for her to bleed out since they don't bleed making that preservation treatment actually pretty dangerous if you forget about it
Didn't really enjoy this second episode as much. I get the whole "death game" appeal, but I think what made tomadachi game appealing (more than this imho) was that it was pretty much a single "game" across multiple episodes, and the characters albeit, developed. Maybe things will be different in future episodes but I feel the fact that "oh, ok, so I should only care about this one character, and assume every other character will die" takes away from the development and emotional attachment to the show because of it's serious tone, while A Ninja and an Assassin Under One Roof was funny (and interesting) for doing this cause it actually developed the characters and deaths were quick but funny.
I yet to figure out what the numbers mean, like those 4/33 ones that appear constantly in the middle of the screen, or is it pretty obvious that I missed their meaning entirely? The MC is starting to get interesting, she is not just a cold-blooded player that can do everything it takes to win, she also understands the game's mechanics deeply.
Okay I haven't seen anyone mention it, but did anyone notice how the clock changed during the episode?? Like it added time, at times.
The most notable one is at 17:50 when they descent to the third floor. The timer is 12:50~, but suddenly a second before the flashlight goes out, the clock went up to 19:50~!
And also at 15:55, there too when the flashlight goes out, 1 minute gets added to the click, from 36 minutes to 37 minutes!
There's even one at the very start in the room where they meet, the clock adds about half a minute (theory being, when the 6th girl died)
Make sure to keep a lookout on the clock in the next episode!
Credit to @Pasha for noticing it c:
It was seriously too fast, 48 minutes suited me better though XD. I wonder if this is really her 10th game or if Yuki is lying for some reason, if it's true then it's an interesting choice to show the games out of order.
Man, this just screams they're all going to die because of that blonde and her huge ego and that has already happened with the rope that was supposed to protect them, they will probably all die and only Yuki will survive, which may give her the motivation to take the leadership next time
