For some reason, this episode felt rushed. I also think it's a little bit weird for Constance Grail to immediately ask the lady who arranged the party why Scarlet was killed; even onlookers would find that suspicious. I suppose, since Constance is still new to this whole thing + Scarlet also has this very straightforward attitude, it's understandable for them to be rather unrefined in their actions but still...
It felt rushed because we jumped a lot between scenes particularly from the midway point before we reached the party. I was also surprised that Constance could just go and ask about Scarlett like it was no big deal and the woman even responded? Scrap that she felt Scarlett presence in Constance but it does not feel believeable much.
It feels like authors watched Sherlock Holmes and other detective media and tried to replicate it by using formats of current seasonal slop anime. The story has potential, just the execution is lacking behind.
I feel like this is more of an adaptation issue rather than source cuz I sense it being very good. It is that the form in which we get it isn't doing it any favours, I mean it is a mystery anime and the solving part feels incomplete and or unsatisfying to us the viewers.
Yeah its an adaptation of the light novel so it feels rushed in the animation. I also point it out on its first episode. So i recommend to read its manga adaptation since it has a good transition of it and the character backgrounds are much more fluid keeping u hook on what Constance and Scarlet will uncover.
Holy shit, I knew anime would have to cut things but this one was a rush fest. Clearly they do not want the viewer to discover the truth by themselves. A shame because that ED tells me they understood the source themes.
So many of my favourite scenes from vol 1 were totally deleted...
It wouldn't have hurt at all if they cut the episode the moment they are waiting for the carriage to go to the party instead of rushing the whole thing. God ep 2 and I am already kind of down about it.
Since I’ve only seen the anime, I found the two episodes to be excellently paced. Those of you complaining have prior expectations.
The detective side of the show moves at a great clip, and watching Constance / Scarlett work is fantastic. The idea that someone would say exactly what Scarlett once said is quite a coincidence, and if one were wracked with guilt / aware of a conspiracy / afraid of spirits - all those excuses plausibly result in the hint provided.
Intriguing show!
Well some people already know how the story and scenes will progress. The expectation is more on are those scenes in the novel and the manga adaptation will happen. It just felt rushed for the others since there are details it didnt include that makes it more interesting such as connie and scarlet conversation to each other like they are partners in crime.
