The Strongest Neon Lighting Episode in History (S02E13) vs. The Strongest Neon Lighting Episode of Today (S03E06)
Anyway, first 100% competent episode of the season and there were still some frames where Hakari was kinda off. But that's whatever. I love how as soon as you apply constraints and ask this team to turn off their forced cinematic direction, they give some actually creative cuts and inspired framing/movement. Loved the camera moving in 3D.
Kirara's CT is difficult and weird to understand if not conveyed well, and whoever storyboarded this did a fantastic job getting it across.
Can't believe they're keeping Gege's horrible naming convention for this though lmfaooo. They actually gave some good episode titles for Shibuya, and now we gotta see "Tokyo Colony No. 1 Part 1" all over again.
Manga spoilers -
Glad to see we got 30% of Kashimo's screentime in today's episode. Can't wait to see the remaining 69% in the Panda fight
I'm not entirely sure why, but this season just isn't connecting with me. And no, it's not due to a lack of action, I think it's because the direction of this season is significantly different from the previous ones.
Yeah this season hasn't been connecting with me either and it's a far departure from season 1/2 and the movie but this one is probably the best so far when it comes to pacing and explanation. Her powers sounded hard to understand at first but actually after paying attention I could understand how it works and they didn't rush through that too much. The pacing is a bit better this episode. I hope we don't get a lot of scene skipping again. If they pace it like this then that would be much better
WOW I love the care the animators put into the animation, I do hope they get to see their families though, unlike what we've been hearing.
The episode was pure cinema and it was really interesting to see Kirara's technique which was very interesting to see, they way Fushiguro broke it down made alot of sense to understand it. I hope we get a breakdown like that for Hakari's technique. As always I'm left wanting to see more its so good.
Good ep
Megumi and panda vs Kirara was fine, but still kinda boring like the manga. Tho, the Crux star theory was better told in the anime. Rim lights looked cool along with the animation.
Lol, Kirara's spooked face.
Itadori vs Hakari was as expected..
Nice to see Kashimo. Definitely wanted to see the manga intro, but it ain't that serious.
This ep adapted the rest of ch 154 and 155, 156-157, and sum of 158.
9/10
One aspect of this series that sometimes bothers me is how the exposition can feel like a chore, which ends up bogging down the intensity of the scenes and action. The exposition itself is not the issue—it is necessary—but rather the way it is presented. In this episode, however, Kirara’s Love Rendezvous technique was explained extremely well; in fact, it might be one of my favourite curse technique presentations so far. We were essentially placed into Megumi’s perspective, piecing together the technique through trial and error, and when the climax hits, and the full picture finally comes together, it felt very satisfying, at least to me. I also really liked the animation of Megumi vs. Kirara, which continues the strong visual quality Season 3 has maintained so far. Lastly, I appreciated Yuji’s speech to Hakari at the end, where he acknowledged himself as just a cog. After everything he has been through, this moment firmly establishes where his mindset is and further solidifies his character.
Was there always constant exposition explaining the fucking techniques from three different people in the background? I feel that was not the case in earlier seasons or at least they bothered with a reason, like how gojo was teaching yuji about domains and whatnot, this is so fucking lazy, at least when its the characters explaining it to each other there's a bear minimum of writing involved to explain why theyre doing it, cuz they're arrogant or just love talking or fucking wait, the actually cool concept they introduced in this fucking show where explaining thr technique makes it more powrful, but when its in their head plus a narrator its so fucking stupid, if you cant design a technique that doesnt require 3 people to explain what is even happening maybe stop and dont do it or use the rules you yourself designed to make it feel at least a little organic
