That's creepy
They made an idol clean their entire home lol
bro has gone totally nuts
nice way of communication xd
most normal conclusion
No matter what you do Utage, you're a ride or die for both Tamons. Hiding your merch and quitting your job won't stop those feelings from getting the better of you. At least one of your siblings gets it by the end (though she chose Keito.)
Also really funny how the other 3 F/ACE boys show up for Utage as their A-Sides, which they couldn't keep up with for long. Shows how comfortable they all are with her and how far their relationships with one another have developed. Rintarou's got no clue what's going on over there. He's missing out.
What a fun show! I wasn't originally going to follow this one, but boy am I glad I did! Props of Hayami Saori for nailing the obsessed oshi fangirl character which is what makes this whole thing so hilarious.
I hope there's a season 2 sometime in the future. We still have Rintarou's B-Side to be revealed (at least to Utage herself). Plus another season means more F/ACE songs we can have!
So, here’s my overall take.
■ Pros:
▪︎ As a K-pop fan, I immediately noticed how well the creator knows the scene, especially when it comes to outfits. The characters are consistently stylish, and the music is great too. Normally, I avoid idol anime because they’re often cringe and the characters feel flat but this one is completely different.
▪︎ The plot is pretty basic, but it works. Think of it as a slice-of-life: the anime nails its main goal, which is to entertain. The comedy lands perfectly every time I start an episode, I know I’m in for a fun ride. There’s also a subtle sense of nostalgia that adds charm.
▪︎ The pacing is so good there’s never a dull moment. The story moves fast, keeping things dynamic, which is definitely one of the anime’s strengths.
▪︎ The characters are a huge surprise. I expected some clichés or awkward personalities, but they’re all genuinely likable. Natsuki is my favorite, which honestly caught me off guard I wasn’t expecting it, but once you watch, you’ll get it. He’s really well-rounded and genuinely touching. Utage is also amazing: introspective, thoughtful, sharp, responsible… a truly refreshing character.
▪︎ The animation is excellent. The retro ‘80s style is a standout, especially in the eyes and expressions, which convey so much emotion. The colors are vibrant, and several scenes are just stunning.
▪︎ The OST is on point. Both the opening and ending are super catchy, and there’s an ost that pops up in the most important scenes that really stuck in my head.
■ Cons:
▪︎ The CGI isn’t perfect, but it only appears briefly a couple of times, so it’s not a major issue.
▪︎ The romance can be frustrating. It feels stagnant at times, and Utage’s strict professional distance sometimes interrupts meaningful moments.
▪︎ That said, Tamon develops naturally throughout the episodes. Spending time with Utage pushes him out of his comfort zone, and his growth feels organic.
▪︎ Utage’s side is trickier. She tries to maintain a clear boundary, which makes sense given her position. She likes him as a fan and is starting to develop feelings, while also feeling responsible for him especially since he’s emotionally fragile and somewhat dependent on her.
▪︎ The main issue is that she’s emotionally avoidant. She holds back, refuses to fully embrace her feelings, and that slows their relationship. Where Tamon makes moves to get closer, she puts up walls. At least she’s aware of it, which is a positive.
▪︎ One thing is clear, though: a second season is definitely needed. And honestly, given how strong and dynamic the series is overall, it really deserves one to fully explore these characters specially rintaro.
Overall, I highly recommend this anime it’s a solid 8.5/10.

I have to ask how you came to this conclusion.
Because according to your list there's like one normal/conventional idol anime you've seen and thus can use as reference (not enough to draw a conclusion like that about a genre) and it is one that is genuinely bad (emphasising that one show is not enough) in no small part for boring as hell characters... but you also rated that show highly? And other less conventional idol (I think) anime also seem to get high scores from you, though I'm not especially familiar with them.
Sad that another great anime has ended today but i am looking forward to spring anyways this was a really good episode like always and i thought i would be a big cliffhanger but we didn't really get one also didn't get a new F/ACE song which was sad but either way this was a really wholesome anime from start to finish looking forward to season 2.
This was unironically my favorite non-sequel show this season. I initially picked this up after my sister, who is a massive fan of the manga, kept nagging me to watch it since day 1 of the anime announcement. Safe to say that her hype was justified, and now I owe her a Tamon figure on her birthday this year, lmao
I am a huge fan of works that explore the idol and fandom culture quirks. This show did an excellent job of capturing the fanbase, obsession, and unique traits of this community. Awesome stuff.
Me knowing there is YET no sequel announcement................

Had no idea I was gonna like this show this match before I started it. Saori Hayomi's voice acting elevated the show a lot, one of my fav female VAs along HanaKana. Really hope for a 2nd season, wanna see Rintarou more as well, he seems like the funniest one off-camera.
But man, Tamon literally cannot function without Konishita. He's even resorted to stalking her and ended up hallucinating about her cause she suddenly quit. When he pretty much forced her in his home I was getting some serious danger signals though.
What a cute and annoying way to end the season. I love how they all came to eat with Utage and started out with their A side personalities before quickly disintegrating to B side lol. I'm glad Tamon reached out to her, albeit stalking, but ok. I was hoping there would be a romantic ending, but here we are. I guessssss I'll have to wait around for s2! Or maybe read the manga. :)
I'm not part of the target audience, but this show is one of the best I watched this season. The jokes are over the top and funny, especially Utage's exploding head. With a number of animes from this season getting renewed for another season, I really want this to get a second season. That can be used to flesh out Rintarou's story, as he didn't get a story arc.
I'm so neutral towards male idols so I'm surprised by how much I enjoyed this! I like characters with different sides. I don't usually like 'aspirational' love stories like crushing on your idol, teacher, etc but this really works, probably cause it carefully recontextualizes the way she sees Tamon. I like the choice to have them in a school setting for the culture festival, while not groundbeaking for romcoms it works really well to humanize Tamon from the perspective of Utage. And I love the role reversal at the end with Tamon cleaning Utage's home.
It felt like this was building up to finally breaking down the walls between idol and fan so I am kinda disappointed the ending returns to the status quo :/ Utage was starting to unpack who she was outside of a superfan. idk how to feel about the reveal of Tamon's C-Side as a yandere but these were probably choices made with manga sales in mind.
Keito was my favorite
