The beast within him has awakened.

I can't get enough of them being all cute and holding hands and stuff. And I want to see more of them in school!idk why I don't feel that magic in it anymore.
same tbh, its somehow gotten slightly infuriating to watch now LMAO
I mean it's not kind of anime to have that comedic tone. Now all wholesome moments somehow turn cringe. Also, the gradual use of still frames to avoid animating in this season is infuriating.
I feel like when we look at it objectively season 1 was also pretty cringe, but you can easily overlook it when you get into the story.
I can absolutely see where you are coming from and I think this is part of the reason many romances stop after the confession. It's much harder to build suspense now, because at this point what's about to happen? The big moment is over.
Personally I agree that episode 1 definitely was unable to capture the same feeling as episode 1 of s1, but I think that's pretty hard either way.
I will continue watching and see what kind of story they will try to set up for s2 going forward. I only watch it for the cute fluff anyway so maybe my expectations have just been low.
I watched so many genetic romcoms by now that I am just kinda burned out if nothing unexpected happens. Maybe it's the same for you?
This is exactly what i was going to say. The show just really lacks that '2016 wholesome romance' vibe you'd find last season.
The chibi's and brighter art-style, compared to the warm sunset tone and the quiet scenes where they bond in season 1 is really making me consider if i should even watch this season.
I couldn't finish the fragrant flower blooms with dignity for a very similar reason to why i'm hesitant on watching this second season too. I might just end up reading the manga instead as my main source of the show, and only watch the episodes to see the manga animated. Amane still looks as weird as always though.
My favorite diabetes anime is back. Seems like it took a more comedic tone this season, it's been a while since I watched season 1 but I don't remember it having these cute chibi segments.
Also, I thought Marinka would voice Kido in a lower pitch like Silence Suzuka or Ako, but she uses a high pitch for her. When Kido first spoke, I got a good laugh from it because she sounds like Mahiro.
I was really curious to see what the second season would be about, since the first seemed perfect and complete to me. It will focus on the development of their relationship now that they're engaged. It's not something you see often, so I'm really curious and excited! I noticed in this first episode, in addition to a small graphical change compared to the first season, that there are many more comical asides and the characters are much more relaxed and happy, obviously, while still maintaining some of the atmosphere of the first season. I'm really curious to see how it will progress!
I really enjoyed s1 but the problem I have with this kind of pure and wholesome shows is that, after the main couple gets togheter it sort of stops being interesting to me. If the next few episodes are going to be more of the same blushing and acting the same way they did before being "official" (which i expect they will), it might be an easy drop for me
Maybe these kind of shows are not meant to continue after the confession, because this was painful at times, either that or with 3 more years of watching stuff this just doesn't hold up anymore, i guess I'll try for couple episodes to see if it will conjure thr same feelings as s1 did but idk
Honestly, I didn't like this episode, and I will probably drop the series.
I'm here because I thought they had changed animation studios and came to check. I know S01 doesn't have the craziest of the animations, but S02 seems like taking a bunch of IRL pictures, digitalize them and cartoon them and place characters like photoshop. Some scenes look like straight out of a Visual Novel, and theres a scene in which 2 or 3 phrases went to a bush.

I'm not asking for Fate levels of animation, but it feels so out of place to me, almost like a slideshow, plus this felt like a full on banquet of fluff/sweet taken to such an extreme I also found it displeasing.
To be honest? After three years, I've forgotten what happened in season 1, so I treat it a bit like a new anime where the characters start out as a couple XD.
It was more enjoyable to watch than I remembered, though it's a bad comparison since they're officially a couple now. It's still good to have another anime where we don't end up being a couple and go beyond that, the more the better. Although some of the dialogue between the characters was surprisingly horny...even better XD
