Great second episode, and a nice formal introduction to Rosei, the Agent of Winter, and his bodyguard, Itecho. Was not expecting the action, but it felt balanced with the well needed exposition to Hinagiku and Sakura trauma's alluded to in Episode 1, and how it affected Rosei/Itecho.
Also, a first look at our primary antagonists to the Four Seasons, with the "Reformists" and "Eradicationists" being differing ideological groups hunting these individuals. Some other interesting info is the newspaper stating that Hinagiku's choppy way of speaking and her mental age were effects of whatever happened to her in the past, so I look forward to seeing how the anime explores that in later episodes.
While different than Ep 1 in tone, I think Ep 2 was solid. The music and the visuals were especially great, with a first look at the OP and ED, which I thought were amazing. It's shaping up to be a great addition to the Spring 2026 season.
This episode felt a lot better than last week, which says a lot considering how amazing last week already was. Leaf on SB/ED already says everything about why this looks and feels like a movie. I Had to pause a couple times just to appreciate what I was looking at. Super intriguing so far. The Spring Clan withdrawing from the search three months after the incident is fishy as hell. Those kids really went through hell in the past, and I bet the damn grown ups have something to do with all of this. Hurt to see what Sakura went thru all those years....
Super cool action cut + the OP is pure eye candy. (Leaf is a god.)

ohmygod ep 2 made me want to cry for some reason. i was literally like 2 mins in and nothing happened and i felt like crying TT__TT the way all 4 of the characters don't care very much of themselves just makes me so sad... they're so self sacrificing and keep giving themselves away till the point they don't wanna live Bro... and the amount of guilt they have is so sad. i love all of their relationships with each other, its so beautiful and complicated. and then the backstory reveal comes. and then i realized why i wanted to cry like gawd the beginning was literally a forshadowing towards this moment. Help. OhmyGod. WAAAAAAAA
ALSO not to mention the visuals??? it's so pretty, and yet there's such a melancholic vibe to it that pulls at my heartstrings. i love it so much wow. even though it makes me want to cry. its so pretty and i love the colors and the composition and everything. the pink tone the visuals have now that it's spring is so pretty and i love the slight chromatic abberation effect... also all the frames with rosei in it is so so cool. HELP. EEEEK AND THE BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL YET MELANCHOLIC SOUNDTRACTS TOO. WAAAA
im so excited for the 3rd episode !!!!! also i just realized forum posts exist on here so i will now make everyone see my rambles. Heh
The animation and art are beautiful, especially the backgrounds. Can't really say this episode made me feel as much as the previous one, the drama sometimes feels over the top, most of the dialogue is super dramatic and then you get those weird comedy scenes with Rosei and Itecho that felt a bit jarring to me. The world building is interesting, I'm not sure what exactly the role of the agency and the villages is yet and what are the goals of the different groups opposing them but we'll probably find out a bit more with each episode.
Visually stunning with a beautiful OST, the anime shines aesthetically. The story is engaging, but its impact is weakened by repetition dialogue, situations, and ideas often circle back within a single episode, sometimes in slightly altered forms. This makes some emotional moments feel overblown, as if the show is trying too hard to force sadness rather than letting feelings land naturally. A few scenes do resonate, but overall the execution is uneven, which can pull viewers out of the experience. Whether it can fully hold together remains to be seen
Its a solid 7.7 for me.
