Very interesting start!
I love the art style. The colors, the lines, the movements... They're all so heartwarming and comfy.

It's quite the contrast with the content of the story that seems a bit heavy and dramatic, I don't know if it's done on purpose or what.
And it feels like the school might become a nest of vipers...
Anyway, after Chihayafuru and Ore Monogatari, I had full confidence in Morio Asaka to direct at MADHOUSE a touching story and the first episode didn't disappoint me.
Can't wait to see what's next. I hope we'll get to see some nice performances, like the crying girl who was singing this week <3
The narrative has a more literary style, almost like a novel being adapted directly into an anime, so it’s not necessarily for everyone taste.
But I liked the premiere; it was pretty much what I was expecting from the premise. What surprised me a bit was the stronger focus on the story of the girl who appears with Tabata, Takehara. At first, I thought Tabata would be the main protagonist, but later I got the impression that there isn’t exactly a single main character. From what I checked about the characters, it seems that they’re all protagonists, and that the anime will tell the stories of several of them. Maybe with each episode focusing on one or a few characters.
I also liked the visuals. In some moments it reminded me a bit of Aoi Hana, with that softer, more contemplative style.
For me, the premiere worked well. I liked the atmosphere and the theme, and I’m curious to see how they’ll develop the stories of the other girls throughout the episodes. I think it’s going to follow a more episodic format, accompanying different trajectories within the same place and each girl’s own perceptions of life and of the place where they are.
Even if this kind of stories bring almost 0 interest in me, there is something about the backgrounds and character art style that makes this anime easy to watch. Maybe is Morio Asaka's direction and the mangaka's quite interesting drawing style. I watched Aoi Hana for the same reason 7 years ago and it did not disappoint in that regard.
I have not read the manga so I do not really know the story. The pacing sometimes reminds me of Ikoku NIkki (how the scenes are shown and how the spectator is suddenly moved to a different one) but for now it doesn't have an impact. I will keep watching it for now though.
