i remember reading the manga right after the first season of the anime ended and noticed some stuff was cut in the anime. does anyone know what chapters the first episode adapted? (i know the first part of ep 1 was chap 86 with ai and everything but idk where the little kyoichiro part was from)

Its nice seeing the anime again, I hope silver link is able to improve the animation quality throughout season 2. S1 was a mix of good and bad, but overall solid. But this first episode was very solid. I never realized how much the anime has a stacked voice actors list. Is season 2 24 episodes?

  Heard that season 2 will only be 12 episodes, can't confirm tho

  i hope not, if season 2 is the same length as the first season, it could be possible to end on the timeskip (thought its unlikely)

Mini Kyoichiro is Ch. 99 in the manga. I appreciated how they chose to adapt these two chapters in episode 1. Both do a good job at reestablishing the warm vibes of the series with good comedy while also reintroducing Taiyo and showing what he's all about. Ai parallels his backstory, and he's able to show such love for his in-law that he butts heads with most often. Kyoichiro also got strong depth here that sets the tone for the amount of focus he'll get this season. Fantastic first episode for sure.
