For us it may seem normal, but it must be complex to remember these little rules when you’re not used to them and have spent your whole life relieving yourself in the woods
Did I ever say that I love Hidari and Migi? :-D
We learned a bit about the Kagemori clan this week. There's some kind of civil war going on among the villagers and one of the factions left to live outside. And apparently, Yuru's parents joined them with Asa? Why didn't they bring Yuru too, he didn't fit in the basket?
These Kagemori guys are a bit spooky. Slaughtering a whole village, booby-trapping an elevator with a deep-sea fish daemon... Where do they even stop?
I thought that girl didn't do a very good job at running away but it was all planned. Not sure what happened to that stalker after he got swallowed but he won't be missed.
I wonder what they do with the people who can see. Do they leave them be, thinking no one will ever believe them if they start babbling? Or...

This is just my guess but they probably had to do a deal in order to leave the village. Take Asa but you have to leave Yuru behind.

Nothing-burger ahh episode ?
No(?) It gave us a bit of context, lore and background about Yoru's parents, the village, Dera & Hana and the Kagemori clan and introduced us to the current status quo and our protag's goals for the time being. It had quite a bit of important stuff, was it more calm than the previous two eps? Yeah, but not every episode is gonna have adrenaline filled fights and huge reveals and that's a good thing
Calm ep
Love the world-building. So the village is called Higashi Village and they're in Tokyo rn.
Hana got a short-fuse, lol. Dera a troll fr.
Thought the Kagemori clan wasn't the type to deal with little affairs like this. Was thinking they only got involved when there's Daemon's and Yuru. Jin got a cool Daemon to say the least.
So Yuru must have "Seal", if Asa has "Break", which was used to destroy the barrier of Higashi village.
Interesting, that's how Higashi village was first discovered.
Quite funny to see how uncultured Yuru, Left & Right are when it comes to the real world's customs.
8/10
I love this anime, my favorite new release of the season. The mystery and worldbuilding is very interesting. I love that the protagonist immediately understands that something is clearly wrong with both factions and now he can't fully trust anyone, that's very smart decision.
But beyond that, I also like the smaller things. The way our characters are shocked by how the modern world works and trying to understand how everything works is so much fun to watch. Yuru being so proud of himself for learning how to use the toilet is so funny XD. But my absolute favorite characters here are Left and Right. They're so cool and so funny at the same time.
It probably won't be Fullmetal Alchemist 2.0 because the expectations are way too high, but it's good to see that Hiromu Arakawa can still cook
I adore that out of all things the anime adaptation chooses to add to the source material, it's those wonderful scenery shots. I feel like the scene where Hana and Dera come up with a cover story was a bit shorter in the manga, too? It's one of my favourite early gags and they sure did it justice.
Lord Right's VA is growing on me. I still would've preferred Subaru Kimura for him, but hey, it works.
Also I burst out laughing at the noise Makoto makes. Whoever came up with the noises Gabriel makes and now this needs a raise, they're doing some amazing work.
What a refreshing start to a series. In this new era of increasingly high-octane shonen, it's always nice to see a story from a bygone time, slower storytelling that eventually compounds into a massive payoff, by none other than Hiromu Arakawa herself!
I also have to say: although the style is, of course, reminiscent of FMA, this show has the same character designer as Bungou Stray Dogs. You can see it in the character's mouths. It too until episode two for me to realize it; Gabby looked similar to Kyouka.
It's an unexpected combination, but looks great in reality.
