So ive got around 200 anime watched mostly tv size in like 4 -5 years i never watched all the anime just watched what i tought were good...so i dont know i feel like i could have watched more
How about reading some manga?
It feels much better to read a black and white picture book than watching an animation and most of the manga series are much better than their anime adaptations.
But if you insist, you can watch FLCL which is one of my favorite anime of all time, or maybe Ergo Proxy if you are more like a darker anime person.
Also, I recommand you to check my anime list here, maybe you'll find yourself a show that you will find interesting.
i have completed 1018 anime in 4 years (will complete this December)
last month i reached 1000th anime
out of them i watched,400 anime starting 391th till 800th between July 2017-June 2018
well i am happy that i have completed these many but i want to find more hidden gems which aired in past or airing now
Personally I feel like the anime itself matters more than the number, I don't think anyone should feel like they haven't seen enough if a lot of that anime personally resonated with them/they were a great time. I've been watching anime for 10 years and I've only completed 122 titles (according to the stats page), part of the reason I've seen so little is because until I was 18 my family only allowed me to use 500MB of internet per day.
Also, despite how little I've seen, I think my personal interests and the quite a bit of anime history is covered by what I've watched. Back in 2017 my anime watching slowed to a trickle because I genuinely felt like the anime world had narrowed to me, like there wasn't anything I could discover that I would actually care about. idk, even if you aren't me and only had 500MB of internet per day, you've probably seen as much anime as the time constraints you're under will allow. I look at my anime list and I just smile at various anime cuz I remember the fun I had watching most of em, even if there are very few. TL;DR - idk if any of you are seriously worried about this, but I'd say go for quality over quantity - someone else will always beat you out in numbers, but they can't beat you in terms of your personal experiences. Plus it's very easy to beat me in numbers terms, so if you need to feel superior compared to someone, I'm here lmao.
I do agree with you. It's not healthy to just consume as much anime as you can to just so you can increase your statistics on the site.
I've been watching anime for about a year and a half and it's already past 100 titles. I've watched some shitty seasonal shows -probably just for the memes or for no particular reason- although I could watch good shows like NGE (or any mecha anime as a matter of fact) or any good anime in Music/ Mahou shoujo genres which I haven't watched any which have been sitting in my plan-to-watch list.
So yeah I do think it's not wise to prioritize quantity over quality and should go for the ones that are enjoyable and actually worth your time.
I would suggest that you watch what you want, when you want to. Because you've only seen 200 anime within that time, doesn't mean you're any less of a fan of anime than someone else who has watched more. Other people may have more down time, and there's nothing wrong with that. You have other things to do, and maybe some other hobbies you indulge in.
I've completed 200 anime or so, but I spend most of my down time reading mangas instead or rewatching the anime I've already seen, because new animes aren't as compelling to me. You could also try reading mangas! There are way more mangas out there in comparison to anime. Mangas run deep and diverse, you can find one about anything, and they are truly engaging; anime is adapted from them after all ^^
The number of anime isn't that big of a deal, different anime vary in terms of length.
What you really should be looking at is episode count.
Looking at your profile, you've watched over 5000 episodes of anime. That's a lot!!
I've got 696 anime on my own profile, but my episode count is only around 7000, since I watch a lot of movies and OVAs.
So, don't feel like you haven't watched much, you totally have! You're a die-hard anime fan in my eyes! thumbs up emoji
You know, after all of this time I never really took into account the number of episodes watched. I don't really visit stats often, and hardly look at those numbers. But it's interesting, and I do think that the episode count matters in some aspect. Especially dealing with anime that have more episodes vs those that are one cour, or even two cour. 5k and 7k episodes is a lot!!
lowkey was shocked at my own episode count, those rewatches add up I guess
I looked at some of the stats people are throwing out and since you're watching One Piece, it would be only natural you feel like you haven't watched enough. It's one anime that's been running for as long as some of us anime watchers have been alive, if not longer! (It would be the same with Detective Conan and other long-running anime that never seem to end.) That said, I do also agree that it's a matter of enjoying yourself and quality over quantity.
...but aside from that, I second (or whatever number we're at at this point) the idea that you should try some manga. Alternatively, you could try visual novels/LNs/games (and so on, so forth) that have anime adaptions.
My stats as of this comment and observations about them, if you're still interested:
678 anime total/4569 eps watched over 10 or so years (max 15) - not only do I watch and record anything I can get my hands on (including those with the "music" format if I'm aware of the existence of an entry for something), sometimes, I'll drop a show before the second half of an episode so I won't mark that episode as "watched", which leaves some anime marked as having nothing watched despite actually watching them for at least a little bit.
Getting close to 500 now, not including all the anime I dropped in my non-logging time for the last 5-6 years.
There's still a lot of classics I haven't watched. People have recommended mononoke to me since before I started watching seasonal (2011ish) and I watched it this month so I will probably never feel content with what I've watched. Such is the life of a consumer.
