Stared his career at Studio Live. One of the founding members of P.A. Works, he is currently Head of the Animation Department at the studio.
He became close with Kenji Kamiyama while working on The Hakkenden, with the two working together on Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex where Yoshihara directed the episodes outsourced to P.A. Works.
He had his debut as Director with The Eccentric Family.
