Formed: 2000
Biography:
Fujifabric was initially formed by Masahiko Shimura in the early 2000s and consisted of five members. They released their first mini album in 2002 titled A la carte, and later made their major debut with "Sakura no Kisetsu" through record label EMI Music Japan (known as Toshiba EMI at the time) on April 14, 2004.
After being active for 9 years, the band would go through a sudden change when Shimura died at the age of 29 on December 24, 2009. At the time the band consisted of four members, Masahiko Shimura, a vocalist and guitarist, Souichirou Yamauchi, a guitarist, Daisuke Kanazawa, a keyboardist, and Shinichi Katou, a bassist. The remaining members decided to continue band activities as a three-piece band, with Souichirou taking over as the vocalist.
