TLDR: The webtoon novel/manga works really well for that source material. Studio A-CAT dropped the ball with the animation and attempted to take the easy way out and pocket themselves whatever they could of the profit from stills. If you come from the webtoon/manga, beware of watching such a sad excuse of anime. If you watched the anime, definitely go read the webtoon/manga and add your own motion lines.
Now don't get me wrong. The story is great. The webtoon was really well written and the style of art gave any studio the potential to rock this into the stratosphere. What they did was take the easy way out. They attempted to pull Way of the Househusband and their animation style. However, it made sense for the comedic aspect for them. This anime deserved respect and a sheer attempt of animation. The action scenes always left a bad taste in my mouth. It did what the beginning of S2 of Blue Lock did and show essentially "moving" still as if that could amplify the action sequence. Bright flash of light. BOOM. Still manga page. Bright flash of light. BOOM. Another still manga page. It for things like this that gives anime a bad name. Why cheap out for an anime that was expected to be great. I still rated it higher due to the story essentially carrying it and the webtoons was always great to go back and actually enjoy myself. But an anime shouldn't have that affect expect for when you need more of the story. Not because the animation sucked and instead of watching the anime you go and read the webtoon. I hope that the second season doesn't follow the same path that this anime did. Although, the same studio is taking control of it. I hope they listen to the fans of the story and change up the mistakes they had caused in this one.
IF you have come to this anime due to the webtoon/manga, then I say this with a broken heart. Don't expect much. It will essentially feel as if someone just took the pages and narrated it like one does for a YouTube video for people and and some flashes and motion lines. It is a huge letdown as an anime fan and as a fan of this story. If you only know about this story due to the anime, I say take the time to read the actual webtoon/manga. It will feel the same but the story will feel fleshed out for that medium. You can always pretend the motion lines are moving on the page and get the exact same feeling.
The bottom of this us pointless I am trying to figure out why it will not let me post even though the regular post has over the necessary 2100 characters needed to be posted. I don't understand why it is not working.
