Lets start off by saying that this anime is no Tiger X Dragon!
The selling point to this anime are the Cliche and Character Interactions.
The downsides to this anime are Character Design, Story, and Uniqueness.
The cliche of Gamers! is the Otaku nature that has popped up in pretty much every anime that exist nowadays. But this anime really brings it out by splitting the level of Otaku up into different characters. You have the scrub level player, who abandoned his gaming passion to look cool and be attractive. You have the "I suck at video games, but I enjoy video games." player, you have the I enjoy content creating people, you have the super hard core competitive gamers, and more.
The cliche of the anime actually allows for the character interactions to feel complete. I feel like all gamers have experienced those types of conversations with each other minus the fact that non of us have relationships because we are forever alone. (I swear I don't need help and I am not lonely. You're lonely.) I never thought that I could see a dynamic of character interaction on such a level, that made sense. When I watched other anime such as White Album 2 or Stein's;Gate I always questioned why certain things happened in a certain way (with character interactions). But after watching Gamers! I have come to the sad but yet truthful realization that sometimes, the anime interactions are truthful. Some are really over-exaggerating it, such as this one with the Gamers! love misunderstandings, as I would find it hard to believe that any gamers would spend any time on something so trival such as find an SO/Boyfriend/Girlfriend, because clearly it is a waste of time if you aren't getting better at video games, scrubs.
Like I said above the Character Designs are whatever. Nothing like Hestia, Goku, Yami Yugi, Satoshi & Pikachu, etc. Literally can't think of anything else to say for them.
Story, is really kinda whatever. Its just a mess created by the cast. Its a funny and enjoyable mess to watch because of the interactions. But that is about it. There is never a sense of seriousness or depth of despair.
Uniqueness or as Gigguk would call it, Originals. LuL those don't exist in 2017/2018/2019, outside of AoT and Mob.
Ight for those of you who actually read this all the way through, you can tell me you hate me on Mixer, same user name.
