What is good art to you? Let me rephrase that, what is art to you in general? What makes art, well… art. Good plot points that connect each dot? Gorgeous drawings? Character with deep depth to them? Good fights? Good emotional beats? Even good romance perhaps? That is what you call “art” right?
Now tell me, what do you think of modern art? You know, those bananas on a wall. Those brush strokes that surely even you can do? Those artists who are so consumed by meaning that they forget to make the art actually viewable. These “art”, even if you can call them that, are a scam right? They are an insult to our creativity. They are an insult to art in general. They shouldn’t even exist, right? As this is all what "modern art" is, right?

Fujimoto is a weird mangaka. His art and his depiction of it in this nihilism yet still somewhat hopeful world is very… odd. Not that other mangakas haven’t done this before, Fujimoto sure as hell didn’t invent these concepts but everything about him is weird. His weird sketched out looking art, his weird storytelling, his dialogue. They all feel odd.

Sasaki stopped a bullet is a story about hope. It’s a story about beliefs. It’s a story about humanity. It’s ironically not a story about how sasaki can stop bullets. Sasaki is lost, he doesn’t know what to do after his father has passed. He doesn’t believe in himself until his teacher tells him that she is a god. It’s outlandish and obviously a lie but that still feels him with hope. Hope and belief so powerful he catches a bullet by sheer chance. Maybe, if he believes, the astronaut dream of his isn’t far off too?

But at the end, it is revealed that his teacher was actually a god all along. It was her who stopped the bullet. But that just enhances the story instead of taking away from it. As now it’s about his just because he thought he could do it if he believed, he actually achieved it. It’s a beautiful story and one of my favourite in the collection. Me telling it here isn’t doing it enough justice. But it’s so weird for it’s time and even now so surely, the chainsaw man author was congratulated for bringing his vision of weird world to life while telling a meaningful story. He was congratulated and went on to make chainsaw man which everyone loves. The end.
…
…
Except… that didn't happen.

Sasaki stopped a bullet was hated when it first came out on forums and bulletin boards. It was different. It strays away from the traditional manga, the dialogue was weird, the art was weird, the storytelling was confusing, this is a disgrace, this is cringeworthy, this shouldn’t exist, this author doesn’t know how to make manga, he should just quit as manga is clearly not meant for him.
Chainsaw man is one of the most successful stories of modern manga. It’s the most popular manga of the modern decade that began it’s own weird new style. Chainsaw man is a weird series. But it’s a more normalized version of his previous works to appeal to a more mass audience. Which it did. So, good on him as this weird thing from the past, is seen as great art now. But it also comes with its downsides as the people who got into it for the shounen are weirded out by part 2. As it’s more raw. More experimental. More trying to push the genre forward than what it already is. This is what caused a massive debate when the asa and denji back alley scene happened. Since it was so foreign and… weird.

Goodbye eri is one of the greatest things ever created and the weird thing is, it would be hated if it came out like 10-12 years ago. But since Fujimoto pushed this barrier and made this more normalized with the most popular shounen of the new generation. It’s beloved. Which I am the most happy about. Acceptance of art is great and I am glad that we are moving towards a future where modern art is being more and more accepted.
This is not me calling anyone stupid or dumb for disliking modern art. This is not me saying you just don’t get it. This is me saying you shouldn’t dismiss art because it’s new and foreign and doesn’t follow tradition. Art is an evolving medium, every art is valuable.
So no, those brush strokes aren’t cheap art. Those took years to perfect. Deep meaning based art is good, the art should be looked at for meaning. The curtains weren’t just blue. That banana in the wall? It’s a commentary on commodification of art. That “art” can be anything. Is this review the best thing ever? No. But I am glad I was able to write it. I was glad I was able to make it still. Go there, make your art. Create weird shit. Create anything you want to. Simple, beautiful, detailed, weird, traditional, anything.

Because art as a medium is anything. Art is weird. Art is beautiful. Art is meaningful. Art is deep. Art is…. art.

Have you ever read something so baffling that it has just left you speechless. You just sit there, wondering what went wrong. That was my reaction to reading Toyko Revengers. If you ever wanted a lesson on what not to do in a shounen series, you can look here. Now, I will start by saying that this review is gonna be mainly negative so if you are fan of Tokyo Revengers, I still encourage you to read this since it's good to know different perspectives and all. And hey! if you like toyko revengers, good on you. I am glad you are able to find enjoyment in something that I don't. Now let's head on to the review.
Tokyo Revengers was a manga recommended by a friend. He praised it a lot so I checked it out. And honestly, I enjoyed the beginning parts. It was a solid start with a unique concept. I thought it had good potential and that potential never got met. I can't even say I'm disappointed in the series because for me to be disappointed, I would have to be actually invested in it which I never was. But, I truly wanted it to be great, I truly did. I mean why wouldn't it? But I am here writing this after finally reading the final chapter of the manga and it has just left me exhausted. If you combined everything I hate about shounen series, you would get this.

One of the most crucial parts of a shounen series is its power system. Now, Tokyo Revengers doesn't have a power system but it has powers in it. And those powers are time travel. One of the main selling points of the whole manga. Time travelling delinquent. So, it's baffling to me how one of its most important aspects is so poorly explained.
So Mikey's big brother got his powers from some drunk homeless dude and he gave it to the mc. Ok, that's a really random "I made it up at the last moment" explanation since where did the powers first come from? What was their origin? Why do you go back or forward on time when you touch a person's hand? This is one of your main selling factors and you can't bother to give it a good backstory? But fine, ok, even if that's a cheap explanation, it's still ok. What I have a problem with is its inconsistencies.
So the vision thing was kinda wack, wasn't it? It was such a random last minute edition. It wasn't foreshadowed, it wasn't even mentioned before, no character seemed to be even aware this was a thing. Why add a new power-up at the last arc? And that is nothing compared to what they did with Mikey. How did he time leap too? How did the mc time leap after he died? What? What is going on?

By clutter characters, I mean those characters who are just there and don't have much going for them. They are just there to fill the plot in. They aren't interesting, they aren't developed, they are just there. Many shounens tend to think more = better and that's not the case. It's ok to have less side characters but actually develop them instead of having 100 side characters who have no development. I can't even remember most of the characters' names or faces since they are so forgettable.
Senju was a good character wasn't she? I wonder what she will do after being introduced in such a cool way in the final arc? Oh? Fade into the background after her role is done? Okay.

Here we have something unique. This time I won't be shitting on the final arc! Yay! But instead I will be shitting on the middle part. Kisaki was honestly a really well presented threat. He was menacing and posed an actual challenge to the mc. Boy! I wonder what his motivations are for constantly wanting to torment the mc! I will tell you what his motivations are, he did all this because he didn't get to be with a girl he had a crush on. The main antagonist of this series who has affected and will keep on affecting the plot even after his death is an incel. I don't even know what else to say. Having a petty villains are fine but when your manga depends on him so much? Nah, that doesn't work for me bud.

Speaking of Kisaki. The mc talks about wanting to forgive and save after he.. murdered Emma, ruined his life a dozen of times and showed no sign of kindness throughout the series.
I hate the forgiveness trope. Which is ironic since my favourite anime is a silent voice. Forgiveness in media is done and portrayed so poorly. You can't just make the character's say "I forgive you". You have to show the character actually change. Which this manga fails to do not only once but twice! Which brings us to
Mikey.
Mikey kills everyone in multiple timelines because his toy plane is broken. Now, ik they try to justify this by going about darkness inside him and stuff. But the mc doesn't know this until the end. So, why is he still trying to forgive him? Darkness doesn't excuse him from killing everyone of your friends. Draken died because he came back to save him and yet he still goes on about saving Mikey.
What people need to understand is that some people don't deserve forgiveness. You are not obliged to forgive some people who have wronged you. You don't need to go and try to share your forgiveness with them. If they want your forgiveness, they will make an active effort for it. So the thing Tokyo Revengers does with forgiveness is such a stupid way to use it.
And yes, they do forgive everyone in the end. Even the psycho who murdered Emma in cold blood. Good job! Great message!

This is my least favourite trope in all of fiction. When they play with your emotions just to be like "sike gotcha". It's such an insult to the time you have spent knowing and letting go of that character. And Tokyo Revengers might be the worst example of this. I was actually shocked when they decided to resurrect everyone. I really didn't think they had it in them. How do I even begin to explain how this is bad?
Seeing Kisaki and Emma in the same page fills me with actual disgust. I was honestly gonna give it like a 4 even after all this but this was the last straw. The only reason this isn't a 1 is because I have had some good memories with the beginning parts even though they weren't anything special.
The real Tokyo Revengers was the friends we made along the way.

Comedy is a very low standard to hit in the world of anime. I am not the first and won’t be the last person to say that most comedy anime aren’t funny. So, it was a joy for me to experience the anime known as golden boy. It was delight to watch this anime. I haven’t laughed this hard in a series for the longest time and especially not in an anime. This anime is the one that got me back into watching anime (probably, no promises). So, what makes golden boy such a good comedy anime? Honestly idrk fully, I just wanted to say that anime good. Onwards to the review.

What’s the most important character in any story? It’s the protagonist of course. Which all these new modern shows don’t seem to understand since they insert the most generic harem looking protagonist to their stories and call it a day. A good protagonist can make a story great while a bad one can do the opposite. Imagine vinland saga but instead of thorfinn, we get a whinny shy generic romcom protagonist. Won’t work as well would it? Now what would you imagine when I tell you that this anime features an perverted character? You might think “hey that sounds like a shit mc” but nope! I am glad to inform that Kintarou is an actual great character. He is perverted, yes. But it’s played to such an absurd level that it just comes off as a funny gag instead of coming off as annoying. Also, it really works for the joke because the entire joke is that this loser of a character is an actual genius in disguise. Underneath his perverted persona, kintarou is genuinely a good guy. He cares for everyone he meets and teaches an important lesson in every episode. Enjoy your life and don’t be too hard on yourself. Episode 3 is my favourite example of this. There’s no perverted scenes with him here. He is just trying to help this girl with her marriage to bring her happiness and he is doing everything for her and expecting nothing in return. That’s kintarou, he is a pervert but he is a good guy underneath all that.
I really like how this is really short too. I am glad that they cut it off at that as it really plays to the anime advantage. I read some chapters of the manga after the anime ended and let me tell you they weren’t that good. The avenger endgame style crossover with all the girls at the end was so well done. He just went off into the sunset. A perfect way to end such an anime.

And can we just talk about the animation for a moment?

Obviously, this is not the best animation in the world but for the comedy series like golden boy, it’s perfect. The expressions used and the timing is done to such perfection that every last frame will leave you smiling.
I rate this a “made a laugh” out of 10

We all have done something in the past that we wish we could change. A decision we could have taken in the past that would have make us happier now. But alas, we are only human. We can’t change the past, we can only look back at it. All there’s left to do now is move on from it.
Before, we look at look back. I just want to talk about Fujimoto for a moment. I read chainsaw man a year ago and while I thought it was good. I didn’t understand it. I didn’t understand why people were so excited for this manga in particular. Time passed, I moved on to other things. Then one day, as I was laying on my bed alone in the night, I thought “why not” and decided to read look back. And it was one of the best experiences I have had in my life. I suddenly started to get Fujimoto work (now this is not me saying "you need to have higher iq to understand his work, I am just stating my journey that lead me personally to understand him. If you don't like it's fine) and how his writes his stories and why they are special. His style of storytelling feels like a movie rather than a manga. Everyone panel feeling like a frame. He uses this trick where he uses the same panel over and over with little movement to show that time is passing, its great. It’s hard to describe his style fully but it’s just something special. It’s one of those “you will only truly get it when you try it for yourself” thing. I believe in the future, we will look at Fujimoto just like how we look at such mangakas such as Oda, Togashi, Miura, etc today. Well that’s enough of me fanboying over Fujimoto. Now, time for the actual review.
Look back follows our protagonist, Fujino as her manga from that day is being passed around the class. When she is called to the office to give one of her paper manga slot to this girl called Kyomoto. She does as she is told while still believing that no matter who she is up against, there’s no way they will draw better than her. So, it is crushing for her when she sees that the person she is up against isn’t only at her level but she is way ahead of her. But this isn’t what gets her the most. What gets her is the sound of people cheering her art turning into the sound of people belittling it since they found someone “better”. That’s the driving force for many people, seeing that someone is there to enjoy what you make you motivated. Getting recognition for your work feels good. Something as simple as getting comments on an art you did or message from a person for a review you did feels nice, it helps you to do more. And now that sense of recognition is taken away from Fujino. But she doesn’t give up! On the way back, walking through a field of crops, she decides that she wants to be better than Kyomoto. That’s her new driving force now. So, she continues drawing even tho she isn’t recognized for her ability and told over and over to “grow up”. A phrase I am sure every one of use has heard in our life time. She keeps drawing nonetheless pursuing her goal to be better at art than Kyomoto. And even after all that, even after pushing through the pressure of giving up, even after all these years of practicing art, she just isn’t better than Kyomoto. So she gives up, she gives into the pressure and quits drawing for good. Until one faithful day, when she has to go visit Kyomoto. And when she visits she sees that the one who truly recognizes her art and doesn’t belittle her is the one she who indirectly caused this in the first place. As she sees that the one she thought was so above her in art is actually a fan. She gets back her motivation from her childhood. As she knows that someone is out there who truly appreciates what she does. She walks again the same field of crops as she did so many years ago. But this time, it’s a walk of happiness, a walk of recognition.

That day may seemed like a wonderful dream to her but as she grows older she begins to view it as nightmare. As Kyomoto is killed by a crazy man in an art school. She couldn’t help but blame herself. Maybe if that day she hadn’t accidentally called her out, she wouldn’t have died. Maybe if she didn’t tell her to get better, she won’t have died. Maybe if she hadn’t picked up drawing again, she wouldn’t have died. It’s quite funny how some of our happiest memories turn into a sour mess so quickly. Our memories that we want to change so badly. “Maybe I should have done that.” “If I just did this, it wouldn’t have happened.” We think to ourselves knowing that all we can do is look back at it. Like Fujino does at the moment, its easy to blame ourselves for our past actions and thinking we picked the wrong decision and not realizing what the decision meant to everyone at that very moment, Maybe we should stop looking back at what may seem like bad decisions from our past and start looking forward to making better decisions for ourselves in the future.

Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister may seem like a generic harem at the start. And it is like that for a while. It took its time but as it is now, I can confidently say that this is one of the best harem manga I have read. Let me tell you why. Right before our sponsor… no one since this is not a youtube video. Someone please pay me to write these shitty reviews.
Now, in most harem manga, the first thing you would notice is that the story.. kinda sucks. It either features mr. perfect I can’t do any wrong as a protagonist or it features kazuya. Featuring girls such as ms. childhood friend who is either perfect or a tsundere, a tsundere who hits the protagonist for no reason whatsoever (Is this comedy?), a flat chested girl so we can have such funny moments as “Oh my god main character you touched my boobs (which are flat) I am going to punch you now, and how can we forget ms. fanservice who is only there for fanservice. Isn’t this cool? Aren’t these girls so lovable and adorable? Aren’t they funny? No. No they aren’t. And for some reason these girls with such different “personalities” (except for the fact that they all punch the mc at some point. Seriously what is what will harems and punching, just make a fighting anime at that point, that would be way better) are just throwing themselves at this blank self insert of an main character. Where’s the good story and characters at. I will tell you where they are, they are at this manga. Here every character is fleshed out with their own goals and motivation. We understand them, what they want and who they are. The girls aren’t just there to be cute and in love with the mc and the mc isn’t just there to be a self insert for the reader. Every character feels natural. The story feels well paced. Speaking of pacing. Many harems try to have a story but it is interrupted by the constant need of adding so much filler. Which brings us to...

Now, while reading this review, you might have thought “why is this guy adding so much garbage in the middle of his sentences”. Well, imaginary person that I made up in my head, that’s me adding filler to stretch this review out since this website needs me to add bunch of words to be able to upload this review. So I keep adding random things at middle. Shmebulock. Now, that works for a loser like me who is writing a review on a harem manga on an anime website but that doesn’t work when you are trying to tell a competent well written story. And if you want to add filler, learn to pace it well. 10 chapters of story and 50 chapters of filler isn’t good pacing. Now, I am not saying this manga pacing is perfect. It is quite rough at the start but it gets better, the author learns as he keeps writing it. Every chapter moves the story forward in some kind of way and even when they don’t. It focuses on showing us how these characters have developed. Speaking of development...

Even if your story is generic and has a bunch of filler. That still shouldn’t make your manga complete garbage as long as your characters are good. Most people read harem for the characters. If you mess the characters, the whole experience is ruined. And I am happy to say that the characters here are excellent. The main character feels actually like a person and not a blank slave. He has his own motivation, he gets angry, he gets sad, he grows as person as the story progresses. He learns to appreciate living with the sisters. He learns to care for them. And the sisters are great characters as well. Which is amazing since it would be so easy to just make them as generic as possible. We have a tsundere, big boobs onee san and the younger teasing sister. Just make the tsundere punch him, give fanservice with the onee san and make flat jokes with the younger sister with her basically bullying him. Great characters guys, we did it, we wrote a harem. But no, this absolute chad manga is above that. While they seem exactly like this at start. They slowly grow and learn to appreciate the main character as the story goes on. You, as a reader understand why they love him. A problem with a lot of harem manga I have noticed is it goes from “I hate you, I will murder your entire family for my enjoyment” to “Omg, you acted like a decent person, I love you now” and it just doesn’t work. It’s just too much. And fine, you want to have progression with your character that doesn’t feel natural at all? Fine. But they don’t even commit to it since we gotta wait until the end for them to act decently to each other. We can’t have the character grow, that would require effort. So they are just stuck in a infinite cycle until the ending. But here we see how every arc effects the character and their relationship with each other. We can feel them acting differently after every arc but not too different that they feel like whole new character entirely. Every girl here is great and I love all of them equally.

Overall, great manga. If all of them don’t win. 0/10.

He is an average boy who is sad because his crush is transferring. He makes a new crush on the same day, he learns that the planet is dying, he wants to migrate humans to another planet in future, he wishes dad and mom would stop fighting. Then he sleeps preparing for another average day in his life. Goodnight Punpun.
Punpun is a manga that I have heard about for a while now. Everyone talks about how depressing it is so I wanted to read it when I felt like the mood was right. And I can safely say, this is one of the best manga I have read in my life.
The story goes from Punpun's childhood to adulthood. We can see how while still kinda depressing, his life was simple as a child. He hung out with his friends, watching porn with them, etc etc. Every adult faces and the way they act is kinda freaky because as a kid, Punpun saw them that way. He was completely oblivious. Many bad things happened in his childhood. His parents get divorced, he almost dies in a fire but the worst thing that happened to Punpun in his perspective was breaking the promise and leaving Aiko behind.

Middle school comes by, he still hasn’t talked to Aiko after the incident. And it even seems that she has a boyfriend now. Which makes Punpun sad since he still thinks he loves her. Things go by and her boyfriend challenges him to a game. If Punpun wins, he gets Aiko but if he wins he keeps her. Which is a kid’s view on things since even if Punpun loses that doesn’t mean that Aiko will stay with him. While playing the game, Aiko holds Punpun's hand and he feels great happiness. He even wins so everything should work out from here on right? But Punpun starts feeling regret, he feels as if he has betrayed and stole her from him. He even goes straight home, ignoring Aiko who he wanted to talk to for the last 2 years. Punpun isolates himself. He feels… guilt.
There is also his uncle who serves as a parallel to punpun. His story is his regret about not helping a girl who was abused. He is later rescued by a girl who gives him a little hope.
High school is difficult. Punpun spent all his time studying. He is alone and as he says in the first chapter of high school, he wants to have sex. And… he gets his wish later on. As his aunt basically rapes him because the uncle was away for a long time. So, Punpun got his wish fulfilled in the most fucked up way possible. He just leaves without saying a word. He is even mistreated by his mother all the time. He feels betrayed by everyone. Even when his mother dies. He can’t feel sad because of all the things she has done to him. So Punpun now chooses to live alone.
The reason the uncle was away was because he cheated on his girlfriend. He cheated on the person that showed him hope. He feels regret, he feels guilty. But after some time talking with the driver. He chooses to return back and live.. with guilt.

Punpun now isolated, alone and lonely has only one thing to live for. He sees Aiko again. He searches for her day after day after day. But still… he can’t find Aiko. The same cycle passes day after day after day. Nothing in his life changes. An experience I think most of us can relate with. He almost goes insane. We see him turning into a triangle with almost no expression or anything. Showing how uninteresting his life is. Until he meets Sachi who rescues him out and shows him a little hope.
But atlast it runs dry after a while too. Punpun then tries to reject who he is and tries to be more like his neighbour taka which seems to actually work out for him. Until… he meets Aiko again.

He tries to lie at first but then tells her the truth later on. Punpun has finally found his love. Everyone should work out now since they love each other for who they actually are. Or do they? Aiko asks for Punpun help just like the highschool girl asked for his uncle’s help but this time instead of rejecting like his uncle did, he accepts to help her. Repeating the same mistake he did as a kid but this time leaving Sachi behind.

This scene also shows parallel to when the uncle ran away from the person who gave him hope. Punpun does the same to Sachi. But hey! Punpun and Aiko are running away now so everything should just work out fine. It will just work out-

Punpun breaks after having to kill a person. He isn’t the Punpun we used to know now. He turned into this mess of a person. He is running away with the person he thinks he loves the most but as we can clearly see, they both just love the person they project onto each other to escape their depression and loneliness. That’s why their relationship turns so toxic. We can clearly see how messed up Punpun's life has become when we see his dad talk about how he was sad over a person getting hurt because of him in the past, in contrast to him beating someone in the present. Things just start to go from bad to worse, the breaking point is when Aiko kills herself. Now with nothing to lose. Punpun stabs himself and closes his eyes. Goodnight Pun-

Aiko's final wish was for Punpun to never forget her. But as we can see at the end, Punpun is forgetting even what she looks like. Punpun slowly moves on and continues to live… with guilt.

We Never Learn follows the life of a poor student who is chasing for the vip recommendation named Nariyuki yuiga who is forced to tutor 2 (later 3) geniuses. I remember catching up to this series when the furuhashi route was still going on and I really enjoyed it. Now that I have reread it again, I found out many things I liked while also many things that I didn't. So today I want to share my thoughts on this series.
The Main Girls:

We never learn consists of 5 unique girls. My thoughts for them before the ending were that Furuhashi was the most well written character in this manga. Her character about wanting to be supportive to her friends but loving the same guy as them later on was interesting to see. Mafuya's contradiction towards the girl's goals at first to accepting them for their choice at the end was good. Rizu arc was interesting. I really like how she became more honest after her arc. Asumi was technically the least focused on the manga so I thought her arc was not that well done compared to the others. Uruka wasn't developed much throughout the story and we only got to see more of her through flashbacks which I disliked.
Humour:

The humour can be a hit or miss. While the jokes aren't really that unique and most of it just boils down to fanservice and flat jokes. The way it's done can make the scene good. I really liked seeing the different expressions of character's. They even made average jokes kinda funny because of it.
Routes:

We Never Learn has different routes with varying quality. So l wanna look at them and talk about the things I liked and the things I didn't.
Uruka:

Uruka route was the 1st and it was one of the weakest imo. As it was the first route we had more time to develop and focus on why the main character would fall in love with uruka but instead we got a flashback on why she is important to him. Which makes me wonder what was the point of all these 100 chapter's when the deciding factor was a flashback to when she helped him early on in the story. Yes the alternative endings have flashbacks too but they are just alternative endings. They had 9 ch to develop and end a relationship. This had many.
Rizu:

Can you even call it the rizu route? It was more of a sawaka arc ft rizu. This arc would have been fine as a standalone arc but when you consider THIS is supposed to be a rizu route we have a problem. While Sawaka reuniting with her family was sweet, this is still the worst "route" for me.
Furuhashi:

This felt like the most natural route to me. Almost everything was well done. It focused heavily on her arc in the 1st route and concluded it in a great manner.
Asumi:

This was the best route in the manga imo. The story was well written and it felt more mature compared to the previous routes. I liked the drama and her career path as a doctor was heavily focused on.
Mafuya:

This route was almost as good as Asumi and Furuhashi too but those routes were solid from start to finish while I felt like this only started to pick up after 2-3 chapters. Mafuya learning to accept her love for Nariyuki was great to see.
Conclusion:
Overall, I enjoyed my time rereading We Never Learn. Is it one of the greatest harem ever put to page? Not really but it was still very fun to go through it again.

The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You is a manga about a boy who catches girlfriends like ash catches pokemon except for the fact that he does it way better than ash ever could. When I started reading this, I thought "huh this is an interesting idea" and it was… for some time. My thoughts on this manga went from " This is so funny and good" to "This is ok". So today let me tell you why 100 gf went from a must read to an just an ok manga for me.
When 100 gf started off having many aspects to it. The comedy, the serious moments and the cuteness (The ecchi was there too but it wasn't that focused on and it was mostly kept for special chapters). And tbf It pulled all of them off quite well too. Everything up till the rescue arc was perfectly done. You can nitpick things here and there but for me this time period was the peak for 100 gf. The best moments came from this time period. It was wonderful time to be a 100 gf. But I started to notice that the manga that I used to love before kinda started to fall from greatness.
For me 100 gf didn't just straight go from good to meh but it slowly fell in it. You know those aspects that I talked about before? Well… they are still here but they are somewhat different. The main thing for me is the balance. It seemed like everything was in balance before. The cuteness, the comedy and the seriousness. But rn it seems as that comedy now takes the main focus. While I understand this is technically a "gag" manga. Not everything can be a joke, You can't just keep throwing jokes in the readers face and expect them to laugh. Ok, If the jokes are unique and funny then fine but it feels as tho they are the same joke but in different skins. Like the fourth wall jokes or them blushing while grinding their teeth, they started as kinda funny then the author started doing them so much that it lost it's charm. Like why try to tell a actual joke, when someone can just say "the author is stupid", "this manga makes so no sense" and other fourth wall breaks joke and just move on. I mean some jokes can be funny. I am not saying they aren't but when you are overexposed to joke after joke after joke, the good joke doesn't hit that hard because it's mixed in with these other jokes.

The Cuteness just came naturally but now it's just "hey guys looks shizuka is cute isn't it" "she is so cute" etc etc. The cuteness came from characters but now they aren't characters they are just types of girls. Their goofiness is upped so much that it just feels wrong. Like ofc shizuka is cute but when you make it into a gag. What am I supposed to feel? I don't feel the scene is cute since you are trying to force the idea by telling me that the scene is cute. I don't feel like laughing because it's not really funny when the whole joke is that "wow look she is cute". So what am I supposed to feel? I don't like the idea of them mixing the two things because it just makes them both look weaker.

Ofc the rescue arc is the most serious arc in the manga and it's also the most well received. The current "serious" arcs don't really work imo because they feel too goofy. Like I get it, It's a gag manga but just take the comedy out for 1 sec for a "serious" scene please. Like there was this time where karane lost her memory and the message was basically that rentarou will love his girlfriends for the way they are. But how am I supposed to feel anything in this chapter when the previous chapter was unnecessary ecchi (which has increased a lot for some reason) and even in the current chapter they are doing stuff like gathering their energy. Ik that rescue arc had some goofy things about them too but… 1. They were more grounded in reality so didn't feel that out of place, like ofc the rich family is gonna have these high tech stuff and 2. There are reasons on why they were there instead of just "haha funny". Example being the lying chair machine served a purpose of showing that rentarou loves him girlfriends to the mother. What purpose does the dragon ball thing serve? And please god don't get me started on the hair arc. That shit was a disaster. The best modern "serious" ch was ch 60 since it developed Iku's character nicely and there weren't any out of place moments.

Was 100 gf always mid? Was I delusional? No no no no no… that can't be right. Ye, 100 gf was good. And yes, my entire point is that a gag manga is too goofy and I stand by it. Just lower the goofiness and maybe I will give it a try again… or don't. If other people enjoy it, who am I to judge? Maybe, It's just time for me to read some better manga.

What does it mean to forgive someone? Specifically, What does it mean to forgive yourself? This is a big theme that A Silent Voice tackles in it's run time. And for me that is a really interesting theme to explore. This was the first anime that I completed after I knew what an "anime" was. This was the anime that made me see how great a piece of fiction can be. So today let me try to tell you why I think A Silent Voice is the one of the greatest movies ever made.
Past:

A Silent Voice starts with showing Shouya wanting to commit suicide. Which already makes you invested as you start questioning things like "why is he trying to commit suicide?" "What happened to him in the past?". We then jump into the opening of the movie which shows Ishida hanging out with his friends. We are shown this new girl called Nishimiya enter the classroom, She takes out a pen and there are the words "I am deaf". People try to be friendly to her at first but as the days go on, they start to see her as a burden and a nuisance. Then by the hands of Shouya the bullying begins since "Hey! She is a nuisance to us and she is different from us so It's fine.. right?". The bullying becomes worse and worse as time goes on and while some people as kawai are not taking part in it, They are doing nothing to stop it. The only person who tried to help Shouko stopped coming to school because people started making fun of her too. It's the mentality of "either you are with us or against us". The bullying comes to a point where Shouko drops out and while announcing this to the students, The teacher blames it on Shouya and only Shouya. Even though the teacher knew about the bullying, he did nothing to stop it but now the responsibility only goes to Ishida. Shouya tries to put the responsibility on others too but they won't admit to it since "Hey! As long as it's not me, It's fine.. right?". From this point on, the flashback just shows a tale about what happens when the bully becomes the bullied.
Present:

We jump back into the present time but now we understand Shouya's actions that we saw before. It's regret, hating himself for the actions he committed. He sees people with "X" on their faces showing how he is now afraid to look people in the face, he is afraid to hear their voices. He goes to meet Shouko to apologize to her for the first time ever. But the words he says to her are unexpected. He says "Can we be friends". Those are the same words Nishimiya told him in the past. Nishimiya doesn't "forgive" Ishida in that scene since she doesn't blame him in the first place. She blames herself, She has come to believe that she was a burden to them. From that point on, Many things happen. Ishida makes his first friend after a long time which brings into the question of "what is a friend" which results in a beautiful saying of "Friendship defies any logic or words". We learn about Shouko's sister later. We meet everyone. It looks bright since everyone is coming together again. Then.. the bridge scene happens. We have seen how everyone is flawed in the series over and over so now the time where Shouya just spit it all out. This moment has a big effect on Shouko since She has always felt she was a nuisance and a burden so seeing them fight because of her cause just ups that feeling. Later we are in a festival, Shouko says she will go home early, Ishida goes to her home too to get her sister's camera. He sees Shouko standing on a balcony trying to jump. Confusion, Sadness, all those sorts of emotions go through his mind. They were just having fun early on so why is she trying to do It? Why is she trying to die? He runs and yells her name grabbing her hand at just the right time. At that moment he thinks to himself "dear god please give me enough strength, I won't run from my problems anymore" then a hand approaches to grab the balcony. A will to live comes through her. But Ishida falls from the balcony instead. At the end of the movie. She doesn't see herself as a burden anymore. And as for Shouya we get this scene in the end where all the "X" on the people fall off showing that Shouya learned to see their faces again, he learned to hear their voices again, he learned to… forgive himself.
Future:

This movie's ending is a hopeful one. Now that Shouko doesn't see her as a burden, Now that Shouya learned to forgive himself. It's a bright future ahead of them. I think this movie handles a very realistic topic that many people can relate to. Most of us have something's that we did in the past that makes us want to hate ourselves. There's no point hating ourselves now or even hating our past self because what's done is done. So instead of doing that, let's try to be better from now and maybe let's learn to forgive ourselves?

The Quintessential Quintuplets is a manga that I randomly discovered a long time ago in my perfectly legal manga app. I fell in love with reading this manga. I got hooked so I read all of it in a few days but when the ending came and it was all over, I just felt disappointed. Because it could have been so much better. It could have been the best harem of all time but for the time being "The World God Only Knows" still holds that title for me. So let's get into what made The Quintessential Quintuplets so special and why the ending felt so disappointing.
This manga was different from many other generic harem manga that I have read. It didn't have much fanservice and many characters got actual development. Everything up till the scrambled eggs arc was great. We had good moments, Nino got a massive development, everything was looking bright but then…. The sister war arc nation attacked.
Sisters war arc:
Most of my problems for this arc come from Ichika. Specifically the way negi handled her character. See Ichika before this imo had the best chemistry with Fuutarou. If you asked me who was the most likely to win before the sister war arc, I would honestly say Ichika had a very good chance to be the bride. So in the end of the scrambled eggs arc, Yotsuba tells her to do what she wants to do. Cool so now she won't take all the burden to herself. That was a great moment. So now, what are we getting? We are getting a massive development like Nino right? Yeah so… Ichika goes psycho mode and betrays all of her sisters so now at the end of the arc she says goodbye and now has no chance of winning anymore. Yayyyyyyyyyyyy :D. But that's not the worst arc in the manga. Oh no it can be worse. It can be… the festival arc.
Fireworks Festival arc:
The idea of ending all of the character arcs in a single arc was a cool concept. Too bad the execution was disastrous. The main problem of this arc was how Itsuki's and Yotsuba's characters were handled. Yotsuba was mostly a background character up till now. We found out a little earlier that she was the girl that Fuutarou met when he was a kid. We never got that much development of her relationship with Fuutarou compared to the other quints so you can't do her full character arc for her in just these few chapters. Her arc is basically Fuutarou's friend telling her to move on and boom done. Now that was bad but Itsuki arc is way worse. So this biological father that we have never seen or heard from appears and just goes away after a couple of chapters. So wtf was the point? Itsuki, like Yotsuba, is a background character for most part but unlike her, she has some moments with Fuutarou. I see their relationship as a slow burn. Itsuki has supported him the most and Fuutarou's whole character is that he wants to be necessary so they really match together. They go from hating each other in the beginning to becoming friends in the middle. Itsuki's feelings have been kept secret from us. So keeping this in mind instead of getting to know her feelings, We get this biological father bullshit. Wow, what a way to conclude her character. Now let's move on to the final choice.
The Final Choice:
The final choice was uhh how do I say this? Oh ye, It was bad. Yotsuba makes 0 sense since what has she done in the future that made Fuutarou love her. Keep in mind, I am not talking about the child Yotsuba who changed Fuutarou's life since Fuutarou doesn't know it's her. Even if he knew it would be such a shitty explanation since that means none of his current interaction with the quints meant anything. The reason he gives her is support which ok if he is talking about the whole series then ok that's bullshit since Itsuki exists. If he is talking about the fact that Yotsuba supported him first then yes ofc since she knew him. Yotsuba already had an advantage from the start. Wouldn't it make the whole series meaningless if the final choice boils down to the first interaction he had with them. Even the first interaction logic is dumb since Miku also supported him very early on. She also supported him when Yotsuba didn't. So huh? The ending came out of nowhere, It was just "Oh I bet you never saw this coming". If you wanted to make Yotsuba win all along then at least give her a proper development. We can now also assume that Yotsuba was the one who kissed him which takes away the moment from Ichika who was the obvious choice for the kiss but also adds many questions since why did she kiss him?
Ending:
After the random choice of picking Yotsuba, I still had hope since maybe they will show how their relationship has changed. So what do we get? We get a conflict with Nino which was ok Ig. We get a reveal about Itsuki's feelings towards Fuutarou in a single chapter after she has no chance of winning anymore. Yeah great payoff to all that build-up guys. First biological father and now this. Then we cut to a timeskip, Fuutarou guesses the quints and lastly all of them go on a honeymoon. Not just Yotsuba and Fuutarou but all of them. A story about character development ended with none of them moving on.
Final thoughts:
The Quintessential Quintuplets just screams waste of potential to me. It started off good, turned great in the middle but went downhill in the end. I give this a "You tried/Great"

I really recommend that you watch the movie before reading this. Or you can just watch the movie and not read this because my dumb review can't fully describe the beauty of this gem.
When I used to watch tv because I didn't have an internet connection, A movie called Doraemon: Nobita and the New Steel Troops - Winged Angels aired and boy did I cry while watching it. This movie really stuck with me even though I had already watched other Doraemon movies in the past. There was just something special about it. So now that I have this thing called the internet. I searched for the movie and downloaded it with my perfectly legal website. I hoped that it was still as good as I remembered and to my surprise… It was.
Doraemon: Nobita and the New Steel Troops - Winged Angels is a remake of an old Doraemon movie called Doraemon: Nobita and the Steel Troops. And It's better too, This is how you make a remake. This movie starts with one of the most beautiful songs that I have heard in anime (and fuck you too spotify for not having it available). We see a scientist adding stars to some robots then we cut to our usual stuff. Nobita being.bad at studies, Gian and Suneo bullying him, etc etc etc. Nobita cries to doraemon for the 5000th time to give him a robot because he promised Suneo and Gian. But Doraemon says no and goes to the north pole because he has had enough of Nobita's shit. Nobita goes to the north pole to find him but he finds a ball instead which can summon robot parts apparently. The ball is a big change in the remake since instead of just a ball we get Pippo from it, Which was a really nice addition to the remake. It gave the character an actual personality and it was really fun to watch his interaction with the gang. Suneo's robot also gets less screen time in this movie compared to the original but that's fine since those moments were replaced by Pippo moments which are better. His character made Nobita better in the remake since now he had someone to talk and care for, Which also made the final scene of the movie way more sadder than the original. Now some time after he finds the robot he goes to the mirror world with Shizuka. She presses a button and boom instant tone shift. It's not just a cherry movie anymore, things just got serious. They decide to never use that robot again. Sometimes after Nobita gets saved by Riruru. Now who is Riruru? You may be asking. Well of course she is the bestest girl. She is a robot that is searching for the robot parts so she finds Nobita and takes it back. Nobita doesn't suspect anything so he gives it to her but oh my god what :000000 she is one of the bad gus :0000000. Nobita runs for life and traps the robot army in the mirror world. Now wait a minute, he gave her the parts but what about Pippo? Well you see Pippo was trapped in the storage all along and now he is a chicken with a hat. Stuff goes on, Pippo sings the beautiful song, etc etc etc. But what makes this movie so good for me is….. the ending. So let's talk about it.
Shizuka and Riruru go back in time to visit the robot's "god"(scientist) to fix the errors. To fix the mistakes that led to the robots being so cruel. While he is trying to fix them he has a heart attack and dies. So Riruru has to be the one to do it. She has to be the one to erase and restart everything. She has to be the one to bring a beginning to a new world. A kinder world. In doing that she has to sacrifice herself. Riruru goes from hating all humans to thinking maybe they are not so bad after all to sacrificing herself for their purpose. And that in my opinion is beautiful. We have this scene of her fading away in the past whereas Pippo is fading in the future while Nobita and friends are watching. They know they are going to disappear but they had to do it. To start over and bring in a kinder age. Time passes and we see Nobita sitting on his desk when we hear wing flapping noises. And it's a shadow that looks like Riruru and Pippo, They have been reincarnated as angels. We see again how this remake improves on the original since in the original we just see Riruru floating. We just see her float in by the side, No wings, No anything. It just feels so eh compared to the remake. In the remake we hear that beautiful song we heard in the beginning of the movie and it just fades out while Nobita runs off to tell the others. The original movie feels like a happy ending while the remake feels like a hopeful one.

So yeah, that's my long thoughts on the movie. I give this movie a Great/Great. Now go listen to this:

Aot is the most disappointing series I have read in my whole life. It's painful seeing a series that I loved and adore so much getting an ending that imo ruins the entire series. So I encourage you to read the whole review if you can and not just look at the score and leave a dislike (I mean you are gonna do it anyways so let's just move to the review shall we?)
I hear a lot of people talking about how a ending shouldn't affect how great the entire series was and I really like to disagree with that. To me, A ending can make or break a series. Aot is the biggest example of this. It changed many characters at the last second, threw all the foreshadowed stuff out of the window and ended in a way that just makes you feel "what was the point". I will show you what I mean:
I liked armin before the timeskip but after the timeskip is a different story. His whole goal of stopping eren was naive and stupid (Isn't he suppose to be the smart one?). The whole world is shown to hate eldians over and over, they declared war against them so eren responded back to save his people (Which is a good goal) but armin entire motive is "genocide is bad" which is a really weak motive to have for the side that is against the rumbling idea. Even eren calls him out on how he has just become a person who can only say "let's talk". But ok cool, Armin doesn't think genocide is right (weak motive but kinda understandable) but what really gets on me is that he said "Thank you eren for becoming mass murderer for our sake" so genocide is now ok since he is doing it for friends? Dude even punches Eren not because he did genocide but because he didn't respond to mikasa feelings. Also why does him talking work post timeskip, it was shown multiple times pre timeskip that him talking doesn't really work so why now. Ik him convincing marley soldier was a callback to when he failed to convince the eldian soldiers that eren wasn't a threat but this doesn't work. Why would they believe him when one of the people from their race is literally responsible for this and now they are even more scared of eldians than they were before. This is stupid.
Can't really say much about her since she doesn't have much of a personality. She is just there until she is thrown to be the chosen one out of nowhere. What's sad is that isayama said he wanted to do a arc for her but couldn't because of pacing issues. Also, she should have atleast really moved on from eren. She kinda did in 139.5 but visiting the grave of your previous ex who killed 80% of the population with your family isn't moving on.
"Ymir was in love with king fritz" do I need to say more? like seriously, why did she lose her will to live if she loved him? why did she free the pigs? What did she even want? Did she see herself in mikasa? And mikasa killing eren freed her? See, that doesn't work since mikasa never really moved on. And even if you wanna argue that she kinda did by the end. It still won't work because the difference between her story and mikasa is that eren actually cared for mikasa unlike king fritz so this "moving on from an abusive relationship" doesn't really work. Ig, only ymir knows the answer to all these questions.

Eren was my favourite character in all of fiction until 139. Eren whole personality and goals being fake was one of the dumbest thing in the last ch (like seriously even his inner monologue was fake???). His whole personality and determination got reduced to nothing so what is there for me to like anymore? It's not because eren wasn't "chad" and "edgy" anymore but it was because his character went through drastic change out of nowhere. One example is that eren had almost died many things and he never once thought of mikasa in those moments and in the final ch eren is saying stuff like "I don't want mikasa to find another man". Another example is that in the forest scene eren learns that if he needs something to done he has to do it himself and what does he do in the final ch? He relies on his friends and It still doesn't work. Eren did the same mistake he was supposed to grow out of 100 chapters ago. Also eren killed his mother? What? The person whose sole motivation at the start of the series was to take revenge for his mother's death killed his mother? And for what? What a waste of development.

Got sidelined for the pregnancy plot which resulted in a whole lot of nothing. Why even keep it as a mystery if you weren't gonna do anything with it? Why make an arc focused on developing and making her into this great character if you are just gonna make her married to a person who used to literally bully her. Why make her have so many parallels to ymir if they meant nothing.

Never paid for her sins and is forgiven for killing people just cause she ate a pie. The thing is, she was punished in 138 by having her dad turn into a titan in front of him going back to that scene where she killed the levi squad and we saw their parents waiting for them. So why revert it?
Again, like annie, she did horrible things but she is just forgiven by the end of the story with no consequences. In 138, her parents were turned into titan going back to when she helped zeke turn all those people of paradis into titans. But they reverted it. Again. I don't understand the thought process behind this.
A great character arc ended with him sniffing a letter of a married woman.
He masters his titan so easily which apparently can fly out of nowhere.
Most useless death in the series.
Has many years to think for himself in paths but doesn't do anything until armin shows him a leaf.
Why are you, the one whose sister was brutally murdered by dogs, the one who saw two of my wives being murdered by marley, the one who gave eren his titan willingly, helping to stop eren?
Why are you, the guy who was sacrificing eldians at marley to look for a better future, the guy who told grisha to not repeat the same mistakes or the same history will repeat again, helping to stop eren?

Is mad at zeke but never once confronts annie for killing his squad.
"let's save the world" hey isn't this the guy who almost killed a kid earlier this chapter?
Even before the added extra chapter. Everybody could tell this "peace" won't have lasted. Eren idea was stupid. He didn't end the cycle of hatred but made it worse. If there's a group of people that you hate with every fiber of your being, and one of the person in that group kills 80% of the population. You will just hate them even more, no matter if the same group of people "saved" you since they started it in the first place. Paradis shouldn't have even survived as long as it did.
The last panel of this manga was about a child about to go inside a tree like ymir. Which shows they aren't out of the forest. It has just gotten worse.
Pregnancy plot was reduced to nothing. And even if you take out the pregnancy plot. Surpassing the father never held up to something. Historia became just like her parents, she didn't give birth and married someone out of love. She did so, to protect herself, for her own benefit. While eren, left his burden to his friends and people of the island to deal with. Just like grisha did with him.

Opening a lot of plot points is great but it just leaves a bitter taste if you can't end them in a satisfying manner.
