This story is actually not that bad ^^ it's kinda cute, though I feel that there's a little bit more of potential to be squeezed out of the plot as a whole.
I guess I would recommend this if you're into really cute art and the kind of cute/silly drawings, well obviously if you're into games since it's basically like the main topic XD and if you would like to experience a different kind of story not entirely following the high school recipe that most romance anime have ^^
This is my first ever review, so I am going to do my best at it!
I haven't really watched this anime when it first came up, but I've seen that from the romcoms that came out at that season this one was one of the most popular! The story it's a little messy but it's not bad and it fulfills the purposes of a romcom which is being cute and funny lol
Eventhough, in my opinion I would choose Skip & Loafer to be the best romcom of this same season!
Now, this story follows the characters Yamada, who's a high school student that's is also a pro gamer, he's quiet, soft spoken and really good looking and Akane who's a recently dumped university student that got into a MMORPG game at the time she was with her ex and decided to keep on playing. The two meet at a irl meet up held by the game in question (called FOS).
The romance part of the story is a little different from most romcoms I've seen, since it breaks a little form the norm. Considering Yamada is in high school and Akane already in university, it's not as if they are all the time together as in other story when the main characters are classmates or something like that. It's like sometimes you forget you're watching that kind of show as everything related to relationships comes by pretty softly. Nonetheless it's a pretty calm show to watch,
I think the ending is a little vague too, this next part will have spoilers!! At some point in the story another important character appears called Tsubaki, a girl that goes to the same school as Yamada and it's also into videogames. She likes Yamada since they were in the first year of high school and at some point she confesses her love to him, that's the point in the story where Yamada realizes that he's actually in love with Akane. Now my problem is that the part where Tsubaki conffeses her love is very emotional and it's actually kind of intense and compared to the way they end up together... idk... it's a little poor in my opinion ;-; though I'm happy that's the case lol because at some point I actually thought that he might choose Tsubaki over Akane and it would have a huuuge plot twist, idk i think I'm just crazy, but it was a possibilty!!!
It's a pretty average story with some unique aspects, if you like cute art style and cute/good looking characters I would recommend it, it's pretty calm to watch through. It's not going to change your life XD but it's not bad if you're looking for something layed back.
