Story:
This story is so bad in every way possible. First off, it doesn't make any sense. We're supposed to believe that this deaf girl gets bullied endlessly by Ishida during grade school, even to the point where he is throwing out her expensive hearing aids for no reason and hold no ill will towards him at all. Then through a couple of lucky coincidences our main character is able to have a great relationship with this girl... Worthless cliché after worthless cliché is thrown at the viewer which eventually culminates in our main girl, seemingly emotionally on the same level with an AI, falling for Ishida. What exactly is the message here? I guess it would be "People who do horrible things should be instantly forgiven because sometimes they have it hard too!" Completely senseless and heartless. I'm guessing the writer had to try to alleviate some guilt from his mind from being a horrible person in his past, and unfortunately the success of this movie probably made him succeed in that endeavor.... but hey it has pretty art so the story doesn't matter I guess!
Characters:
The characters are like robots. They aren't real human beings. Ishida doesn't learn on his own why what he did was wrong. He literally just gets upset that he got punished. This guy just straight up has no soul. How did people root for this guy to succeed? Every time he does something it seems like he is doing it just for the reward, not because he became a good person.
I don't know if you can make a character more flat and soulless than Shouko Nishimiya. None of her actions seem real. Would a real person easily go from having their life ruined by their tormenter to loving them in a few weeks? Possibly, but not in a "feel good" movie, more likely it would show up if a film had a theme of Stockholm Syndrome. Not much to analyze here because she's one of the most basic and seemingly least thought out characters I've ever seen.
The rest of the characters aren't worth mentioning. The soullessness of our two main characters extends to the whole cast. None of them seem to have any traits that would make them feel human. Unfortunately, this fact just made every interaction with these characters cringy and forgettable.
Art:
It's good, but not the best art ever by any means. I'm tired of these art styles that always look the same in these "feel good" anime movies. We need some innovation, people. The animation is decent. Just decent. Disappointing for a feature length film.
Conclusion:
Please do not watch this movie. Please spend your two hours watching something that has a message that isn't completely garbage. Garbage with pretty colors is still garbage. Overall, I give this a 10/100. I hate this movie.

THE BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT EVER?
Story:
The story doesn't really make any sense. First of all there are a lot of plot holes. Where did the monsters come from is never explained. Why the God allows all the killing and stuff is never explained. Why Griffith betrayed the band of the hawk is never explained. That's basically the story in a nutshell. Plot hole plot hole plot hole! It's just needlessly edgy and no one stopped to ask: what about the story? Plus there is way too much violence and sexual assault that's just for shock value. Being shocking doesn't make it good people! Plus sometimes I didn't even understand it because of how confusing it was.
Characters:
The characters might be the most simple, one-dimensional characters I've ever seen in a manga. They have one objective and that's all they do. First there is Guts and his whole character is kill Griffith. That's it. I guess being strong means you don't need to have any character development. Whatever I guess....
Then there is Griffith. His whole character is that he wants to be strong. Even though he made a lot of friends in the band of the hawk he still betrays them for power. How's that make sense? His character makes no sense at all and later in the manga all he does is just show his strength. He has no character development its insane.
Casca could have been a good character because she actually had some character development but right after she is used for fan service (sex scene) then she is just made brain dead for some unknown reason. She remains this way for the entire manga. Like what the heck? Makes no sense.
The other characters aren't worth mentioning because they are just all killed like 10 chapters after they are introduced lol. I thought that all the people in the band would become good characters but apparently they just didn't want to write their characters anymore because they just kill them off for some reason I don't know. The new characters have so much plot armor so I don't really want to go over that.
Humor:
Completely out of place and the only character that tries to do funny thinks is Puck and sometimes it isn't even funny. Even then its usually completely out of place and ruins the whole tone of the scene.
Art:
The art is good, but not the best I've ever seen. I think it focuses too much on realism rather than style which is bad. As a result there are a lot of ugly panels in the manga which were unpleasant to look at. The details are good in some panels but since there are so many that aren't done with that kind of detail it makes it pretty jarring when it goes back to being worse art. Definitely good though art though for the most part but I think you should just go all or nothing.
Conclusion:
Overall I give this manga 30/100. The art is what makes up most of this score. Everything else is just meh, bland, and uninteresting.
Thanks for viewing!
