Profile Design Help - "How do I make my profile look cool"

1. Get rid of that black bar at the top of your banner image - not sure if you can see it on your devices, but there is one.
2. You can use AniList-flavoured markdown.
3. Use images or videos, if you have any that would work with your banner or profile pic, and put them into your About section if you think they would be of interest to others. That said, don't include anything too distracting (flashing GIFs etc.) or whatever violates the AL rules and use spoiler tags if necessary - usability should always come before "profile spiciness".
4. If you're not happy with your profile, get a second opinion through this forum game.
5. According to forum polls I've seen, AL users generally use the Dark theme, so you can optimise your profile to look good with it if you want to impress its users.
6. I find some of the coolest profiles have a unified "theme", such as pink ribbon GIFs with a pink profile, and if you like what other users have done with their profiles, try to replicate it, but applied to you or with information you're comfortable sharing. For instance, the profile I have as of typing this is unified by the song I have linked at the bottom of my about section - the banner is a wallpaper of the song's cover art and the other elements were chosen because they work with that banner...Other people put what they're currently listening to with a YouTube link, but putting a video in my about section would require scrolling to see everything (which I find fiddly), so this is my compromise.
7. If you use AniList on multiple devices and you can see the theme on all of them, then adjust your theme to work with all of them.

i try to keep mine to a single colour scheme (in this case, pink!) as well as having any information i wanna give people sorted neatly!

As said before, get a cover image without a black bar
You can also put one or two gifs in your "about" section
You can also participate to the AWC, it give you cool badges that look great in the profile (you can see some in mine if you want)

As for custom profiles images they get rendered down when you put them on your profile. You have a bit of control with how big you want it to be, but just don't go overboard. Here is a example of a simple profile I made in the past using custom images. Also photoshop is commonplace for most custom images but other software can be used of course.

If you're on Desktop: top right of your screen you should see your profile pic - if you hover over it you'll get a dropdown menu that shows "Profile", "Notification", and "Settings". Click on "Settings". From here you can edit everything about your profile from; profile color, site theme, about section, profile pic, banner.

You can change your pfp into image instead of a gif.

photoshop helps a lot, try learning how to use it or a free equivalent of it

I just spiced my profile up recently!
Personally, I made my bio images in GIMP. It's free and, although a little annoying sometimes, gets the job done without buying Photoshop.

i just put some random aesthetic stuff i found on picsart and a cute lil border around my info and call it a day tbh. does the job well enough

It honestly depends on how far you're willing to put in the effort. It's not easy to design something that suits your preferences, but it's even harder to commit the time to seeing it finish. My best advice would be to look at other people's profiles as a reference and jot down ideas for yourself. Also, don't be afraid to experiment as much as possible.

i don't have photoshop, but i'd say to go with a color scheme and cute fonts! having a singular type of font might tidy up the look if it, making it more aesthetic! ٩(◕‿◕｡)۶

I honestly find getting a idea to be harder then making it come alive. It’s hard to find something to base your profile around and even harder to stick with it so I would recommend looking around seeing others and take inspiration from them.

for design ideas i'd look at ux design stuff or other people's profiles
for adding images or videos i personally use catbox

I dunno mang.. i just change my pfp and cover every once in a while.. put in one or two gifs and bam call it a day (yeah this isn't really helpful haha)

for my banner i just took a screenshot of my profile, put it into gimp, and cropped the image to the dimensions of the banner section before pasting in the attack on titan image.

the dimensions of the file i saved are 1920 x 437

I customize them in photoshop, usually.

Just go to some wallpaper site and there a config button and you can check the dimensions in settings.

I make all my banners and profile pictures from scratch using MS Paint and GIMP. Needless to say, it's a good idea to plan ahead and account for the exact dimensions of what you're using. You should spend some time thinking exactly what you want before actually committing to it.
