  I agree with these recommendations.
  
  There aren't many anime / manga exactly like death note unlike a lot of general well-liked genres like isekai, shounen, etc. Not due to the fact that it's not liked, it's very liked; just hard to execute well IMO.
  
  Code Geass is probably the closest in my opinion, although there are other Ani-Hero Anime in which you can find here:

  Some of my personal recommendations would be these (in terms of the Anti-Hero Genre):
  
  Terror in Resonance
  Overlord
  
  Like Death Note, the MC's are pretty smart and the animes have a lot of strategy, etc. The context of the anime and the world in which they are set in differ a bit but overall they still keep the whole anti-hero theme going well.

Most people gonna say this, but Code Geass is a natural pick if you enjoyed Death Note.

Code Geass Hangyaku no Lelouch

Main characters of both share lots of similarities, questioning the meaning of justice and enacting their ideals on the world through force (for better or for worse).

It also shares some of the psychological thriller aspects of Death Note, but also includes action scenes with mechs and armies.

The characters are well fleshed out and interesting, with conflict between them that feels meaningful. The show doesn't shy away from the realities of death and war, and witnessing how the characters deal with that is just great.

Easily one of the most memorable shows I've seen, so I defo recommend it.

  I need a thriller like death note the only preference is if its shorter than death note like 12 ep or 24 but other than the same genres and stuff

  Id also suggest Monster; its kind off slow paced compared to DN and quite long, but it has many of same themes. Its 74 episodes so it doesnt really fit, but if you ever feel like watching something longer, keep that in mind.

this ones definitely got some flaws but its a thriller in a similar way of dealing with god's and the like. its not perfect but it was entertaining.

Here's a thriller with the same composer as Death Note:
Kaiji Ultimate Survivor (God I love recommending Kaiji)

While it doesn't deal with the cat and mouse like game of Light and L, it still deals with psychological mind games where people are trying to out smart each other with high stakes behind it.

Quite a lot of jo jo battles are like this^^^ the great pretender is also similar, but it is a bout a con artist group fooling people and 100% the time it fools me and i go wait what the F***??? (not exactly what u described but a similar feeling)

Hunter x Hunter 2011
even though I don't really like either of those. Classroom of the Elite was like a knockoff death note in a highschool setting. They overthink all the fighting in Hunter x Hunter so it's actually pretty similar. I like Hunter x Hunter, just not this specific version of it. But I would say this one is probably the most convoluted.

Now this show is one that I'm a really big fan of. It's about a bunch of con men pulling really elaborate scams on people.
