For me, it's forever gonna be the fanbase.
All the mangaka with “I can’t write a female character for the life of me” Syndrome. I hope they all get cured eventually! (Not likely)
Depends on the gender of the mangaka. I can understand the difficulties of writing a female character as male, but I would be very worried if a female mangaka can't write a female character...
Some can’t though. I really dislike the female characters in Fushigi Yuugi, Ouran Koukou Host Club, and Shoujo Kakumei Utena for example. They were all written by females too. I do realize this is subjective...but you’re right. As a writer, creating characters of the opposite sex can be difficult. I just hope I am better at it before I get to a professional level.
idk man Satoshi Kon was writing groundbreaking female protagonists just fine. from what I understood in interviews he seemed to actually draw strength from that "outside" perspective in his writing.
and female mangaka miraculously write both male and female characters well, for example Hiromu Arakawa. so that argument doesn't hold water, it's just excuses for mediocre writing :^)

one of my fav genre tho
Isekai boom was a pain in a butt. Had it not happened, the other genres and the industry itself could've grown better than this. Those wastes had taken over the industry due to previous successful series were isekai series.
I disagree with this, especially since the period before it was nothing but Idol shows or Slice of Life. We had maybe 2 years of solid Isekai and at least half of them weren't horrible, compared to the lazy "girls in their daily lives" and "girls in their daily singing lives" trite...
I mean, if you can take a look at the past, it wasn't that bad. Also, I'd prefer a Slice of Life and Music better than those nonetheless isekai series. It had stopped the development of the other genres. Even worse, those studios had created more and more isekai as it seemed to be the only way to reach the fanbase, they can just label it with those fans services, beautiful heroines, and addictive action scenes, and it'll be just fine.
And it's kinda ridiculous, to be frank.
the stupid community that can't understand that titles like Boruto or Black Clover have now "Anime canon" (anime eklusive content) that is more than a filler episode but everyone is still crying that it is filler...
Finally a sensible person. People apparently cant distinguish between what is filler and what isnt. The boruto anime is unlike the naruto anime in that boruto anime is developed ALONGSIDE its manga, whereas the naruto anime was a straight up adaptation of its parent manga.
Now obviously that would mean the boruto anime wouldnt have so-called fillers as some blokes keep saying, its annoying. They have their own separate development
my dude, anime canon is literally just filler. There is no difference; you are just trying to make it sound better. That is a ridiculously stupid take.
Oh yeah there is no difference... Oonoki died, everyone knows that Mitsuki is the child of Orochimaru, they showed us that Borutos eye can see the portals Sasuke and the Otsutsuki use... they made the "Mujina Bandits Arc" longer so we got more informations about them and now we got the first look at kara.
yeah typical filler episodes.... I don't have the source but the anime is the expanded version of boruto and the manga is the short one.
im just gonna quote something i found on quora i dont care about borito for the life of me:
"Boruto anime is made up of fillers mostly.
Probably 25% of episodes are canon . 40% is anime canon and rest are useless fillers.
Now whats anime canon?
No one knows. Actually this term is for boruto only, because kishimoto said Everything happening in anime is canon.
I don't know why are we even listening to him right now . He is not making boruto , he has literally no idea what is going on anime . He only supervises the manga and i m pretty sure that is just for name.
He is a manga writer who has no time in world to supervise anything.
But just because kishimoto said , and the studio too so the fandom just introduced new word,
Anime-canon."
Some of the troupes make no logical sense and are just for prolonging the story and end up really pissing me off, mainly characters in romance anime being complete and utter dumbasses with their thought processes and actions solely to build unnecessary drama, not only romance shows but they are the main offenders imo.
The community, the TOXIC people
you cant like a popular show or "you're basic" or if u like underground shows "you're an elitist" like tf make up your mind
Yep, I just like what I like, and the others can go fuck themselves with their stupid "opinions"
Be honest: you, too, get sick of hearing people say Naruto and One Piece are the best anime ever when they're only ever watch anything that was shoved down their throats via Toonami/Adult Swim/Anime Network (before it died)...you're not an elitist for telling those nitwits to expand their horizons before running to a poorly shaped conclusion.
the cringy fanbase obviously and the forced "fan service" in a lot of anime like seven deadly sins where meliodas keeps harassing elizabeth for example, if i wanna watch stuff like that i go to different videos and not mf anime
This, just this!
Forced fans service is bad, I don't like it, because it's more like they want to pull you in a side where you want to see the story yet distracted (I might say they want the audiences to get horned/laughed) by the forced fans service. But if it's a high-quality fans service, I approve.
I'm not going to drag ALL of them through the mud as some of them are actually fairly alright people, but probably the shippers, these mfers go nuts over something so small they harass the goddamn authors, its sad. I've seen it for MHA, AoT, Tokyo Ghoul and man, these guys really got nothing better to do.
What I hate the most about anime is the industry itself. Sometimes it is hard to enjoy anime knowing about the work conditions the employees are under. Not only are they under the stress of a tight schedule, a lot of them (particularly animators) are underpaid. It wouldn't be a far cry to call some studios black companies These are not the only problems of the industry (Loss of artistic merit over profit and repetitive tropes etc.) and I understand why it is as such, but the work conditions stand out, and it makes it hard to enjoy anime at times when you think about it.
Not only that but the fanbase as well. If you guys thought the overseas fans are bad wait till you see what happens down in Japan, particularly 2chan (I know Japanese and whoo boy that place makes 4chan look like weenie hut jr.) Just looking at why Takami Akai (Trigger) stepped down, or why Aya Hirano (Haruhi VA) had trouble with her career. Let me tell you the words these people say and the things that they do kinda makes you lose hope in humanity, it's like they view other people as objects or possessions. (kinda the same with idol culture) No wonder otakus have such a negative connotation in Japan.
Most fan bases are cringe that just shit talk others for not liking what they like...cough Jojo... Also the one incident where the fans of darling in the franx but actually fans of the overrated Zerotwo sent death threats to the voice actor of ichigo like cmon really... was that really necessary smh my head.
I love Anime, but when you've watched a few you start to get annoyed with certain things:
Despite this, I will continue to love Anime, because the good outweighs the bad.
I skip recap episodes if they don't have an interesting framing device.
And yes, accidental pervert scene are goddamn stupid.
I've seen one harem that wasn't dumb, Bakemonogatari, and that series still has problems. Alright, two if you count Neon Genesis Evangelion as a harem.
I find that in some cases you cannot entirely skip the recap episode, since they like to add a big reveal at the end. For example, at the end of episode 11, a main character will get hit by a bus in slow motion. Then, in episode 12, there is a recap of episodes 1 to 11. At the end of episode 12, they will reveal to the viewer the result of the bus accident and the viewer learns if said main character dies or not. This makes it so that the entire episode 12 cannot be skipped, which is annoying.
I think the main problem I have with Harems is that the girls usually have weak motivations for liking/obsessing over the guy. They guy will do something small and the girl falls head over heels for him. It feels unrealistic and distracts me. I get why people like harems, but for me it takes away from the story.
I guess Evangelion is a harem, but for some reason I never viewed it as such. Interesting.
Well, I loathe the fanbase (JUST DIE, GO TO HELL), the whole industry, and sometimes, some studios. I hate those fanbases which are being so reckless to proclaim that they have the best a fanbase, such an illiterate statement. About the whole industry, I mean, who have forgotten the isekai boom back in 2017? It was utter trash for the development of the other genres as well, it's sad to see something like this, they are so desperate hunting for more isekai and forgot with the whole purpose of anime industry itself. The anime industry is no more than the capital industry of this current state. I might also hate some industries which produce those isekai with no purpose (Well, you know who). Okay, that's all. Damn, too offensive, my words, I guess.
For the anime itself, I loathe it if the presentation wasn't a crystal clear. I mean, presentation is the vital part to develop the story and without it, it'd be a show with no development at all. Okay, enough.
I have a list lol
2.Definitely some Fanbases
3.How they portray some female characters to be weak, or shy, instead of a good Shōnen with a badass no simping female lead or at least protagonist
5.From my last one.....How most animes have the same cliche storyline (especially romance animes)
the single that i don't like about anime is that so many of them don't get a follow up season(rokka no yuusha). that's it.
i don't really care about the identity politics that people want to bring into it as long as there's nothing overtly racist(more of an older anime problem), and i say that as a brown human with hair that grows into an afro. and i don't really see why an annoying fan base would be a problem if they aren't collectively doing something that's completely insane. just don't interact? i really think people want stuff to dislike
