The Anime Watching Club (AWC) is a club and community formed to challenge you to watch more anime and to encourage you to step out of your comfort zone every now and then. We hope that you’ll find some new little gems that you never would have come across before! In order to do this, our team creates anime (AWC) and manga (MRC) challenges to help facilitate your watching and reading expansion!___
Here’s a list of all anime challenges in one place: AWC Challenges
Here’s a list of all manga challenges in one place: MRC Challenges___
5. All submitted challenges can be found in [AWC Challenge Submissions Spreadsheet](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1r0VLIoUYvynHvxQJDb0yQzNuC0WbIiX9KxrzOsqYGSw/edit?usp=sharing). One of our reviewers will take your submission from there and look over it. They’ll go through your Challenge Post and make sure that all the challenge requirements have been met. If there was a mistake, the reviewer will send a public message on your profile to let you know what needs to be corrected. Upon successful completion of a challenge, the reviewer will congratulate you and send you the snazzy badge we’ve worked up to reward you.
Display your badge on your profile and move on to the next challenge!

As you complete many of our challenges, you'll earn Challenge Points. The more Challenge Points you collect, the higher up the Challenger Ranks you'll move, with new Ranks being earned at set tiers of Points earned. We have plans to provide you with suitable rewards regarding this, and while we know what we want to do we haven't been able to start development on this just yet. Once we have information to share on this front, there will likely be an AWC-wide announcement.
Our Monthly Challenges are some of our most well-known challenges. With options to do an Easy and Hard version of these, we release these every month, totalling up to 12 every year. We have a special badge we award at the end of the year to all people who participate in our monthly challenges. You can qualify for this badge with the requirements below:
Participation: Complete at least 1 Monthly Challenge
Easy: Complete all Monthly Challenges on Easy Mode
Hard: Complete all Monthly Challenges on Hard Mode
Mastery badges can be earned for all of our Anime Genre Challenges. To earn a Mastery badge you must complete the Genre Challenge for a second time; however, you cannot use any previously completed anime for this mode! That's right, you'll need to watch an anime for every requirement after starting the mode, and you cannot rewatch any anime used in a previous mode (Easy/Normal/Hard). In addition, Mastery Modes cannot be started until your Hard Mode has been reviewed and passed by our Review Team.

Make sure this is posted in the comedy genre forum post. If you could delete this comment it would be greatly appreciate. Thanks!
I am a bit sad that I hadn't had so much time in the summer and I hadn't found August Challenge earlier than 30th August... :D
We are discussing allowing a legacy mode for past completed challenges. The badges would be have a different background than the current silver/gold motif we have for the monthly challenges and wouldn't have the vfx. This is still in the discussion phase as of right now, so nothing has been decided. We will probably do another poll soon to get more feedback. If we do move forward with this, we'll make an announcement.
I like to do these challenges, but I just think it would be nice to have a different way to add anime to fulfill the requirements than to manually copy and paste over everything. Gets tedious if I need to list several anime I watched.
If you have a better suggestion that still allows our reviewers the necessary information, we are all ears.
Few thoughts:
Start / Finish dates are needed as there is currently no way in AniList to know when an anime was watched simply by looking at someone's anime list (outside of the activity feed which would adda a large amount of time to review processes without having a reference date to go off of).
For Easy start / finish dates, we tell people to do a best guess. Again, this is to show that the anime was previously completed, as we have no way of verifying this outside of given dates.
You don't have to do the title separately. The reason behind the formatting of [anime name] (link) is to make a simpler format so it's all in one line. You can just as easily put the link alone like this:
However, it makes the post very long especially for those challenges with 40+ requirements.
How you show links is all up to personal preference, we just need a link to the anime for review purposes.
Having "proof of" questions does not help trim down the amount of information needed for a show and people will probably dislike this more than just putting a start / finish date. I know I couldn't name the school from Code Geass off the top of my head because it's been so long since I've seen it. Also, proof of questions can easily be googled which is how I would need to answer the example question above.
I understand it takes some time to fill in the format, but in order to do reviews we do actually need the information we ask for. Without this information the review submission time would increase exponentially and no one wants the review time to be weeks / months long like it is in other challenge groups.
Completed all monthly challenges for the year: badge coming soon
Now I regret not being able to do the August challenge...
I know this is weeks later, but we're still considering different possibilities of a way we can allow people to go back and earn a monthly badge that they missed. This is especially helpful for this first end-of-year badge since this all started up rather recently and people are still just learning abou it.
It might be weeks later but I am glad to know that I might be able to earn my August badge^^ (the sadness badge I made is really sad to look at XD)
Have you found some way to do that or not at the moment?
It's up to the AWC Leaders and our Challenge team, but the last idea I heard was to possibly have an additional challenge in December that would allow someone to go back and earn a monthly badge they missed. This would be in addition to the December monthly, so it wouldn't be a freebie, but it would allow people a chance to get something they might have missed while also upholding the integrity of having monthly challenges.
Keep in mind that was all in idea format and all conversation regarding it has taken a backseat to getting our new batch of genre challenges out, which just dropped today. So that could end up being what we go with, or it could be something completely different.
@Lazareen I finished my September's Challenge and i dont know who should i inform to get my Septmeber's batch
Yo! I was just wondering, have you submitted your September list here ?
Mods will usually send you a message once they're done revieeing hour submitted list.
@Asceken, you post a new comment to the Submission Forum Post. In that comment you need to include what challenge you are going for, the mode, and a link to your challenge. It should look like this:
September Hard Mode: Link
Also, please stop sending DMs to AWC Staff members to look at your submission. All submissions are reviewed in the order they are received in the submission forum post. It is unfair to everyone else if we jump the line.
All of these instructions are also posted to each challenge post as well as the submission forum itself:
One suggestion (and shouldn't be too hard): For the challenges, could you please identify which characters are supposedly depicted on the badges in a short text description below the badge pictures? Some of the characters I know because I've seen their show, but others I don't know. Naming the characters depicted could also give ideas for shows to start watching to begin or continue the challenge.
Has anyone considered setting up a Patreon so people can donate? I really love the work that is put into these challenges and definitely think there should be a way i can show my appreciation besides saying how much i love it. Im not looking for anything extra just a good way to give back to you all :)

Hey @nuuskapippeli98!
This is the wrong place for this post. You'll need to post your submission in the Anime Watching Challenge: Challenge Submissions thread.
HI I've been watching anime for some years and it's hard to create my completed list because I've forgotten some of the anime I've watched. Will I still be able to get the badges for anime I've watched as I've only just begun recording them.
Heyo!
To answer your question, nearly all of our challenges require you to watch anime to complete it after posting for the challenge. In these cases, you would be unable to use all of the anime you've already seen anyway, since you would need to watch something new. In these instances the rules of the challenge will state that you may not use previously completed anime for the challenge.
There are a few cases where you can use anime you've already completed. These include the Easy levels of all our Genre challenges, and then any Collection challenge we've already, or will, release. In challenges where this is okay, the challenge rules will state that you may use previously completed anime.
Keep on trying to update your list with anything you remember as that's most helpful for you, first and foremost. In any case that you can and do use previously completed anime, dates are asked for, but if you don't remember the date, we ask for a best guess of the date or (an easier option in my opinion) you can use your list import/start date here on AL.
I hope all of that answers your question and any follow ups you might have had. Please ask away if you have more questions or need clarification.

For suggestions best to ask on the Challenge Suggestions / Discussion thread we have set up.

Hello and welcome to the AWC :-)
It looks like you want to participate in the Beginner's Challenge, but the thread you replied to is the wrong one.
This is the AWC Master Post, giving a general overview. The Beginner's Challenge is located here. It would be best to post your challenge there and delete this comment.
Good luck and have fun with the challenge!
Hi
I have a question
Is it necessary to update the activity of the animes you watch so that it counts in the challenges?
Hey @maridelta!
As written in all of our challenges (following extract from Submission Thread), your activity must be visible so we can check when you watch anime used in your challenges.
Your profile and anime activity must be set to public so our reviewers can verify your list and activity.
However, not all challenges require all activities to be present.
Also, the FAQ thread would be the best place to ask questions, since we do not monitor the Master Post thread often as reviewers.
Am I able to request recommendations for beginner challenge here? Closed thread linked this as replacement
Yes, you're in the right place!
I would recommend these, since you seem to like Psychological anime ^^
