Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba
The best anime of all time. New gen, old gen, any gen the others don't compare.
its good you like it and that you have your own opinion, but someone who has only watched 87 anime shouldnt have such a opinion
btw demon slayer cant compare to some of the shows you've dropped.
I think 87 anime is a good enough number to forumulate A opinion but I do think making a hyperbolic statement without the self-awareness to understand your own proclivities towards what you like about the show not being transferable to what others like about the show can be emblematic of projecting your tastes onto everyone
Example:
I find the Ufotable anime adaptation to be jarring in many ways it presents 2d on 3d especially with the source materials style not meshing well with it and feeling other shows done by the same studio have been more fitting
I prefer the Manga honestly as it has a more awkward yet heartfelt art style even with it's awkward proportions that add a certain goofy yet authentic emotional charm that makes me more attached to the characters
even then the plot structure especially in the beginning feels rushed I particularly found an issue with the early Slayer Training arc as it never delivered on this sense of separation between Brother and Sister and in all it just felt like speedrunning by the author in order to get towards the more emotional and tense moments yet not realizing that the early build-up helps accentuate those parts
Nezuko is straight-up not a character she's a merchandisable object whose job is to be cute and sell plushies, body pillows, and figurines she can be both cute and sexy basically appealing to both tastes of the market and she's a plot device used to solve various problems in the demon fights like an all cure ointment not to mention the idea of your sister regressing to the mind of a child is one that should evoke sadness and such emotional devastation as your looking at the shadow of a person you once knew I mean take Berserk (Not comparing the two series directly just showcasing similar elements in their story) Casca is mentally traumatized to the point her mind regresses to the state of a child in order to protect herself from the horrible events that she witnessed and what was done to her this regression of Casca affects Gut's deeply as the one he loves was not only violated but not isn't really the same person they were anymore and in some ways has been taken away from him maybe not literally but definitely metaphorically
I would agree if some KNY fan gave me a really convincing argument so far @NinjaMushi is the only one whose been able to give a really good insight into the series and its reconstructive elements of what made previous shonen great and enhance those features
but even that was just a comparison video analyzing the differences between a deconstructor (Chainsaw Man) shonen and a reconstructor (Demon Slayer)
personally, I find the manga more enjoyable and emotional Gege has an authentic albeit incongruous art style that is both wholesome, adorable, and awkward within it's choppy proportions
I enjoy 3D in anime but I feel like 3D personally was not the best fit for KNY in the adaptation (PERSONAL OPINIONS) since the art style is pretty cartoony or goofy and seeing it ontop of 3D compositing further adds to a jarring contrast where the 3D hyperrealistic qualities don't mesh well with the 2D side of things
The Fate series in my opinion meshed better with UFOTABLE's aesthetic being that the series is hyper-serious in it's art style and character design proportions with much more pragmatic and intimidating designs of its characters
You dropped Berserk, Cowboy Bebop, and NGE. Three of the top anime of all time. Are you 7?
Berserk is a pretty gory series with a lot of censor warnings even in the adaptations which usually cut a lot of the incredibly disturbing parts from the manga so it's not impossible to think why someone wouldn't be privy to the show
Cowboy Bebop while being an amazing remix of westerns with great animation sort of deals with a problem of getting into Wattanabe shows in general which is the story structure being more episodic which leads to less enthusiasm in binging his type of shows even in the most linear oriented of his shows from what I've seen and honestly western shows are not for everyone though I'm not speaking for myself but I know plenty of friends who find the Good the Bad and the Ugly boring af and feel the genre is dry to watch
NGE can be highly surreal it employs the use of cryptic terminology and is a sort of tonic Mecha show aimed at showing the relapses and formation of depression as well as relationships and communication even though I heavily relate to the show and its themes even I was a bit let down at the obtuse plot and it all felt like a surreal odyssey through non-sequential waters and some of the monster of the week episodes are pretty bland in terms of execution which is reflective of how the production team had to scrap an episode that was too similar to a disaster that had recently happened so it couldn't be aired
bro dropped cowboy bebop, dragon ball, dr stone, one piece, spy x family, etc.. literal clown (demon slayer is good but not greatest anime of all time by a long shot)
The others may be better if I tried to watch them again, but you cannot convince me Dragon Ball is a good anime.
i havent watched dragon ball but ik its a classic so u cant just rule it out and say "welp this sucks i watched 2 episodes demon slayer is best of all time fuck one of the most watched anime of all time". like there is a reason it's considered a classic along with many of the other ones u dropped. one piece for example, has some of the greatest storytelling and world-building out there (not the greatest but its up there). idk man same with cowboy bebop ik maybe episodic isnt for everyone and stuff but its cowboy fucking bebop.
