You missed the memo about not needing to like the thing everyone else seems to like
Show is relatively entertaining with a great adaptation, make of that what you will

Because it's funny, the characters are likable, the ost is great, animation was great. There's literally nothing not to like. This was definitely a passion project and they displayed it perfectly.
IMO this is a good show but there are things to not like. The attitudes of some of the characters can be extremely harmful and this is passed off as a joke; things like pressuring underage people to drink, signing to do a gig without consent, Bocchi asking Kita if there's something "wrong with her" for liking another girl, so on.
Some characters lack character, I think: Bocchi has very little going for her other than social anxiety and playing guitar really well. We see her watching a video about black holes and I don't recall much else... this contrasting with Ryo being knowledgeable on music and clearly showing interest in things and Kita being Kita, both of whom are much more fleshed out as people... Nijika also lacks something although I can't put my finger on it.
More minor issues include things like that indie gig being anything but psychedelic rock and Bocchi's guitar in episode 12 making very little impact in the performance, as we can hear from comparing her not playing and when she does play. This makes her seem less important than the "guitar hero" we're supposed to see her as.
It's a good series (my opinion). However it is far from perfect.
I think like most people I was blown away by how ridiculously good and unique this show ended up being. The voice acting was genuinely stunning and the characters had so much depth with really interesting dynamics. And the music as well holy shit is it good, getting pretty much double the content. Even the lyrics from the songs give nice insite into Bocchi. I never thought it was possible but this show has me picking up my guitar for the first time in around 5-6 years, and I've never been more motivated to learn. Nothing beats a show that comes from out of nowhere and takes you by suprise, especially considering it dropped in the most stacked season of the year, by far the most stacked I've watched, and not only did it hang with the competition, it held its own and in my opinon rose above some increadably steep competiton.
If you watch the full thing it will make sense, trus
