:)))
I was a bit worried about another studio change but I think they are doing an incredible good job ob capturing the sillyness of Konosuba. I am a fan of their animation for sure.
I wondered before how they resolve this difference from the LN, well they just went back and said "Ohh yeah I remember I am not broke" lmao.
What are your thoughts on the first episode?S2 was an insane step down from S1 and it looks like the trend continues, not a single joke that landed in the entire episode
As a fan of the books, the only adjective to qualify this episode is "annoying". This studio seems to like Minecraft faces and shouting all the time, so it doesn't matter if it was somehow a recap (it's different from both manga and novels), this has turned into a TV show without the recorded laughters from cheap comedy series. The only interest I had in this season was the point where the main story was heading, but so far it's insufferable.
They just want attention :)
yeah obviously nobody can have a different sense of humor than your highness
Maybe it's just not for you.
But to give a serious answer, this episode was more of a clip show (also some anime only stuff) that was used to fill in the gaps because they cut some important story parts from the LNs. The next episodes will probably be a bit different.
He enjoyed the first season, so there's no point in saying it's not for him since we're talking about the same show, the replies don't need to be serious as well, the comment expresses how the user felt about season two, and the beginning of season three and that's fine, I wouldn't say that the user wants "attention" but everyone wants to be acknowledged, let us not hate each other :)
The first minutes of the episode were terrible, to be honest. It felt forced and was unfunny in any way, but I guess that was a problem they had in making an intro for season three because it got good after the new season intro ended and they got into the normal Konosuba vibe.
And i didn't enjoy the same facial expression being used so often, Insert : Square poker face. We can be more creative...
What was different in the LN again? it's been a long time since I read it.
Phew now I am really struggling to find the right scene so don't nail me on the exact details here. Slight LN/upcoming Anime (ep2+3 probably) spoilers:
If I remember correctly in the anime at some point in the movie or s2 his deal to sell Varnir his inventions fell through/or didn't happen at the same time as it happened in the LN (not sure anymore). Probably so the anime gets more of an open ending. Kazuma was not "rich" at the end so the anime could end on the notion "thus he still thrives to get rich to this day.".
But in the LN he should have already been rich at that point, setting up the next arc where he just wants to laze around with Iris and doesn't want go on adventures anymore because he is so rich. I am not even really sure if most/parts of the first episode here is anime only just to resolve the situation so the next arc makes sense again.
It's so long ago that I watched the anime and read the LN too but I remember being confused about this whole thing and even talking with a friend about it. It's very late rn I will try to find the scene or something tomorrow and maybe comment again if I find it.
Now that you mention it, I opened volume 6 just now and they were indeed talking about havind a butler and maid and not wanting to go on adventures anymore (or at least kazuma). They also talked about the letter from Iris which they already received unlike in this first episode in which they just received it. So some things are indeed switched around.
THANK YOU! So I am not crazy ahaha.
I don't know anybody else who read the LNs so at this point I wasn't really sure anymore lol.
The part with the plant girl definitely was in the LN but I honestly don't remember the part about Kazuma wanting to become a monk so I think that might be anime only? At least him really going somewhere and not just thinking about it. I think it was also missing in the manga.
They definitely rearranged some things but I think it should all pretty much work out. But the show would definitely benefit of longer seasons with 2 cours because some of the books end more or less on cliffhangers so I understand them wanting to give it a more satisfying ending in case there is no continuation in the future.
The monk part is 100% anime only because I could not for the life of me remember that at all. So I did a ctrl+f search on the online version of the volume and "monk" is nowhere to be found.
They could have probably also translated it differently, maybe hermit. Maybe something like recluse etc. So I wouldn't go by the word alone but I am still sure it wasn't there so I am with you.
yay finally! I waitedd and now it's finally heree!
the beginning was a bit confusing but then I realized it was a silly lil dream! poor traumatized kazuma...
also dangg, so many neat unexpected moments packed into this, like kazuma's crush on the receptionist lady, the twist with the humanoid monster, that infinite money tool, and even chris's random lil thievery!
my favorite moment was kazuma freaking out with the handholding, it's like konosuba is becoming more like a romcom day by day ehehh!
