The casual pan of the camera.
Lmao.
The blood gushing!
SHIKA! SHIKA! SHIKA!What streaming service has the rights?
Crunchyroll and Amazon Prime it seems, but it's not out in English yet. There was a Japanese pre-release today, but the English release will come in 4 days (on the 7th). It seems like it's gonna continue this way, with a 4 day delay between English and Japanese
bruh... why are they doing that
Why not? It releases on Abema (a Japanese streaming service) every Wednesday, and then on Japanese television every Sunday. English publishers usually take the TV broadcast as their source, so the English release also comes every Sunday. Pretty much the same thing happens to movies if you think about it, they release in cinemas, and only later come to streaming services.
Can mods make it so that the timer for the episode coming out shows the actual air time and not the pre release on Abema?

TL;DR: No, the listed airing time is correct. It's not a "pre release" but just airing earlier.
The timer will now ”show the actual air time” :)

Crunchyroll's simulcast of "My Deer Friend Nokotan" is moving up to Wednesdays at 7:30am PT (14:30 UTC) starting with episode 6 tomorrow.
I can't exactly tell whether the use of blatantly suspect CGI technique is playing into the absurd nature of the content, or if it's genually being used in-place of hand animating the deer for whatever reason. I'm sure it's probably a bit of both.
Otherwise, —peak OP, peak ED, peak random nonsense—, everything peaked.
I strongly believe it's just that they try to make it feel strongly out of place, so first opinion what you guessed.
Similar thing was done in Kizumonogatari I movie when Araraki went to underground and met Kisshot. There was real video and 3D mixed heavily to push feeling "This is off for some reason"
If it would have been cost cutting reason then they wouldn't have animated so well those deers. They are actually animated much better than some characters in full 3D anime what I have seen.
I was wondering why everyone started placing this show as watched this early, but knowing now that ABEMA is airing this four days ahead of the TV broadcast/CR's simulcast, I had to jump on the hype train right away. Luckily, I was able to preview the OP and ED from TWIN ENGINE's YouTube channel, and they're complete bangers in their own rights. I'll link these here for posterity in case you didn't get them in your recommendations:
Just like how the PVs made them out to be, the OP 「シカ色デイズ」 is just full of wacky visuals to the tune of a catchy upbeat song. Not only that, but having the characters jump in the opening (thanks Ryo-senpai) and a Dark Souls reference which are both currently being memed on at Reddit assures that the brainrot is real it's befitting of a show like this. As for the ED 「シカせんべいのうた」, the song is befittingly accompanied by just a sequence of workers making deer senbei along with, you guessed it, more deer. I can only hope that this show will probably boost tourism to Nara.
Even though I relied on lower-quality subs to understand what happened, this first episode came out swinging, particularly with the various fourth wall breaks, the random times the narrator speaks, and how there's casually a male chorus chanting "しか". The continual juxtaposition between serious and stupid scenes are pretty well done, and I still love how this anime decided to use CGI deer in pretty much any place they can. It's just that blend of incorporating fluid CGI motion into animated panels feels dumb but somewhat refreshing to have something out of the ordinary. Honestly, I like where this is going.
Also, I kinda like these eye catches
a decent first episode, I really liked the references!

If you found more of these let me know
On both scene when Koshi see Noko “hanging” on the electric pole and lying on the storage room, she blurts out two specific names, Conan and Hajime. Both are the protagonists in a famous detective manga.
Fun fact: Koshi mentions how ridiculous it is to see people hang themselves in the first episode of the anime (although Noko clearly didn’t). This oddly specific event actually happened before, not sure if it’s a sneaky reference or not
First episode….
Nokotan and Koshi’s dynamic is not only funny but very cute.
The references to other popular manga series was genius.
OP is already a banger but whoever made the ED into a song about deer crackers needs a raise, sensational.
WIT will have a heavy AOTY contender if it continues to do well throughout the season.
