I refuse to watch One Piece, it's just too long.

  @Mikhee The constant attempts at humor that go to the extent of detracting quite a bit from it's serious moments don't exactly help it move any faster either. I grew to love One Piece but I really hated it at first. It really is a one of a kind and it is not something everyone will enjoy. Still I truly love One Piece despite any faults it may have.

  too long but it's worth it, I thought the same when I didn't know the anime now I'm a great one piece fan, just take your time

  Hmm, maybe someday. I've been always this way with long animes. I think that I need the end of the history, so I didn't watch much long animes yet.

  If you like reading manga, I would recommend that instead. The One Piece anime is extremely slow, like most not seasonal anime (e.g. Dragon Ball). I like both in manga but I consider any anime that makes 10 pages into 20 minutes unwatchable.

  I regret watching One Piece. It has the WORST PACING I have ever seen in anything and Luffy is too childish.

  @angelk I love Luffy but he could be fucking infuriating with his stupidity and childishness at times. Really though Robin and Franky are the only straw hats who never got on my nerves even once lol.

  @guah Ichigo Kurosaki , Kenshiro ( Hokuto No Ken franchise ) , Kenshin Himura. There are a number of shonen battle protagonists that aren't the standard dip shit type. Yusuke Urameshi as well. Yeah Yusuke was kind of dumb in his own way but he had a smart side and was more of a " smart aleck " then the standard shonen hero. I love Luffy but he really can be irritating.

  The same show for the exact same reasoning. Just can't invest the amount of time, same goes with Pokemon.

  I don't dislike long shows, but this is soo long, 900+ eps is just too much for me and my sight.

  i FELT THAT WAY FOR YEARS. Then on Black Friday 2yrs ago, I posted a poll on FB of whether I'd binge One Piece or Naruto! One Piece won and it took me 6 MONTHS to catch up. I struggled for a few weeks but once I got hooked I, like most others, now feel like its one of the best shonen of ALL time!

  I refuse to watch the anime with Episodes that stretch entire chapters to an episode length with inconsistent animation over various arcs

  absolutely but the anime creates a lot of problems stemming from it being a long-running show on a weekly schedule that has to pace itself with the source material

  I felt the same way but I ended up using One Pace to watch and I can't recommend it enough. If you have any interest in watching but the only thing holding you back is the pacing, this is the solution.
