Yeah, so in the manga it is explained right away why he had to do it but it was exposition explanation so I get it why they removed it. Basically in their world only infants or people who depleted all their mana reserves get magic sick. The treatment is familiarizing which in case of infants means that the mother is hugging the baby skin to skin, but in the case of an adult it wouldn't be enough. Seiichirou's case is special because he is an otherworlder, so he is completely not adapted to exist in this world full of magic, so that's why the max skin to skin and fluids contact was needed and the easiest and quickest contact like that is basically sex. It was an emmergency sex.
