Rihito's one of the few characters in a romance anime/manga that actually makes you sympathize for the guy. He was basically pressured into dating Suzuki and once they're not in the public eye, he realizes that this isn't actually working out and just wants to get back to the way they were before. You can't blame him or Suzuki going out because they're just teenagers that were following what the majority of the people were expected of them to do. And despite all of that, they're still good friends and worked it out between them and Suzuki and Tani.
I'm just glad the author did Rihito like that. You would think the author would throw a curveball into an otherwise sweet romance anime/manga so far by adding a good-looking one-dimensional douchebag that everyone hates, but no, he's actually pretty chill and isn't a womanizer like what his appearance suggests.
