'Read a manga' is used throughout the challenge and refers to all manga formats — Any media that is included on AniList’s Manga Browse page is allowed

You can use manga with the format “Manga”, “Light Novel” and “One Shot”
You can use Manhua, Manhwa and Doujinshi

The total number of chapters of all manga you use added together must be a minimum of 300 chapters

You can easily check the total chapters of manga you have used with our chapters calculator!

You cannot reread manga for this challenge

You cannot use manga you completed before entering this challenge
You cannot use the same manga to fulfil multiple requirements within this challenge
You can use any number of manga from other challenges as long as they allow sharing

You can use up to 3 currently releasing and / or previously started manga

You must state how many chapters you have previously read
Only the chapters you read after entering the challenge count towards your total
You must read a minimum of 1 chapter after entering the challenge to use a currently releasing manga
If the manga you previously started is now fully released in English, you must finish reading it after entering the challenge to use it
If the manga is currently releasing, you must be caught up to the current English release at the time of your challenge submission

You must provide a link to its MangaUpdates or NovelUpdates page (or an alternative as described below)
Details about being caught up with currently releasing manga:

▪ For ongoing Manga, Manhua and Manhwa, you must have read the latest chapter with an English translation as listed on MangaUpdates ▪ For ongoing Light Novels, you must have read the latest volume or chapter with an English translation as listed on NovelUpdates or MangaUpdates, whichever has the most recent data ▪ Make a note in your challenge post if you are reading an official English release — These may not be as current as fan translations, but can be used as long as you have read the latest chapter with an official English translation ▪ If you read more chapters or volumes than are listed on MangaUpdates or NovelUpdates (or neither site has any release), then you must provide an additional source to show these they have been officially released in any language, such as a wiki page, a publication database or the official website for the publication (Do not link to any source that contains illicit copyrighted content, such as scanlation sites — these do not count as official) ▪ Please Note: If data for chapters or volumes that released in English before you made your challenge submission are added to MangaUpdates or NovelUpdates before your submission is reviewed, you must complete them before your submission can be passed — This does not apply to any chapters or volumes that are released on or after your submission date

You must state the most recent chapter you finished for each currently releasing Manga, Manhua or Manhwa
You must state the most recent volume and / or chapter you finished for each currently releasing Light Novel — If you use volumes, please provide a link to a wiki, database or official source that shows how many chapters are in each volume

There is no time limit to complete this challenge

Your reading activity must be visible on your profile — This includes all chapter progress and an activity showing each manga as completed (or up-to-date if it is currently releasing)

Your activity must include the start and end dates, which can be added in the AniList List Editor

Your profile must be set to public so we can verify your manga list and activity

Anime or manga used for “Free Spaces” in collection challenges do not count, but anime or manga included as bonus entries do

A mouse, a tortoise or a crocodile also count
Anthropomorphic creatures and human hybrids are included
Merchandise, logos and costumes that are rat-, turtle- or alligator-shaped are allowed as long as they are clearly visible and easily recognisable as such
Provide a screenshot of the page showing a rat, a turtle or an alligator

You may use either title links or preview cards for requirements
These should always be placed alone on the next line after the requirement text
Title links are provided by default in the code and can be included using the format: `Manga_Title`
Preview cards will be automatically generated by simply including a link to the anime or manga: `manga_link`
When using preview cards, you must state if you’ve used an English, Romaji or Native title for any requirements that ask for specific attributes of an anime or manga title
You must use title links for hentai and adult manga, even if the rest of your challenge uses preview cards

When additional information is required, you must use `//` to separate the information as shown in the challenge code
You should not add any extra new lines or include any more than the required information
Do not place any information inside a spoiler tag: if an image or screenshot is requested, you must include it as a link

You can change the status indicators to any symbols or emojis of your choice
The status indicator must be located between the requirement number and requirement text
You must use different symbols or emojis for each status, if they are too similar then your submission may be delayed or rejected
The status indicators must be noted in the legend located in the header of your post
You may add additional statuses to the legend, such as “Reading” or “Planning”

You can change the size of text, center it, make it bold, italicized, or strikethrough it
Each requirement number must be the first thing on their line, so do not add any formatting options directly before them

Submitting a Completed Challenge__
When you have fulfilled all of the requirements for a challenge, make sure your challenge post has been completely updated and then fill out the AWC Challenge Submission Form

You should include your username, the name of the challenge and a link to your challenge post, which you can get by clicking on the link icon on your entry comment

Once you click submit, your challenge will be added to the queue. You can read more about the challenge review process and how to check the status of your submission in the Challenge Submission Guide

An AWC Staff member will check your challenge to ensure that you have followed the rules and requirements correctly. If you have completed the challenge successfully, you will receive a profile message from them, including any rewards. If not, you will receive a profile message with the details of any changes that you need to make. If you have restricted who can send profile messages to you, then you will be contacted via the Challenge Submission Guide instead
