Cant seem to find the "UnOrdinary" webtoon/manga page anywhere on the site. Does it go by a different name maybe?

Not Accepted
https://www.webtoons.com (Featured works on the Korean (NAVER) and Japanese (XOY) equivalents are allowed.)
Unfortunately it doesn't meet our guidelines and lacks the qualifications needed to be categorized as manga, manhwa, or manhua. We'll be posting new submission guidelines soon that clarifies this better.
You should make a webtoon category to accommodate series like this.
Sure thing, i will suicide if they delete Tower of God hahaha as that is my fav Manga/Manwha by an inch (Though it sadly shows up as Sinui Tap here for some reason) but the entry has characters name's showing up with wrong translation so they might delete those too.
And here i was thinking that just the fact they were on "Webtoon" automatically made it so they would show up in these sites without a problem, but i am not sure how any of this works for my disgrace.
"Anything that doesn't originate from Japan, China, Korea, or Taiwan isn't accepted because those are the niche and purpose of the website.
The entries marked for deletion should not have been added. If they did remain, and restriction on origin removed, then that technically opens the doors to every single professionally published comic or cartoon all over the world being eligible.
Removing restrictions from a single platform and not anywhere else is illogical." - Lemon
LINE Webtoon is operated by LINE Corporation which is a Japanese subsidiary of the Korean NAVER Corporation. Naver launched LINE Webtoon as its international version of NAVER Webtoon. So, this would mean that a series published on LINE Webtoon has been published by a Japanese operated and Korean owned publisher. Unless there is a further branching of entities to other countries as well.
Lezhin is similar in that they have both a Korean site as it is a Korean publisher, but also an English global site. And on either one they accept submissions that do not originate from Korea, China, Japan nor Taiwan, yet some of those titles are accepted here on Anilist, such as a few from a Thai writer.
Winter Moon was removed (or set to be removed), but while that series has a Danish writer, the illustrator is Indonesian, which is of course relatively close in proximity to the acceptable countries.
My question for the new policy is that while the term "originate" may be used, I ask originate in which way? By nationality of writer? Illustrator? Publishing company? Global or National publishing platform? All can be argued as originating points.
I think the clearest way to state the policy, or in some form of this, is to say "A work must be written and illustrated by an individual or individuals, and published by a publishing entity, living or operating within the following regions or countries; China, Japan, Taiwan and etc.. "
A work must be written and illustrated by an individual or individuals living in China, Japan, Taiwan and etc.
A work must be published by a Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese and etc.. publisher to their national website.
Say, if a comic is created by a US writer living in the US and Japanese illustrator living in Japan. And the work is first published to LINE Webtoon but then later published to NAVER Webtoon, would the work be acceptable for Anilist?
Say, if a comic is created by a US writer living in the US and Japanese illustrator living in American. And the work is first published to LINE Webtoon but then later published to NAVER Webtoon, would the work be acceptable for Anilist?
No.
Sorry, I edited that poorly

No.
Okay. And in my effort to understand the policy, I ask why? And would there be any instance where a work created in some portion, but not completely, outside of the accepted countries, and the work is published first by a publisher from one of those accepted countries to their national site. Would it be accepted by Anilist?
Accidentally deleted my post when editing...
Yes, Naver owns Webtoons.com, but the above examples would not fit the 'targeted towards' requirement, as they are OEL.
Also, CR is Japanese owned, Viz Media is Japanese owned, Yen Press (which publishes a lot of european comics) is majority-Japanese owned. The company alone wouldn't dictate what can be added.
Works from Thailand should be pointed out and they'll be removed.

Guys, I'm not the smartest guy; I dont know how to dispute these things and understand guidelines. HOWEVER, I think UnOrdinary deserves to be brought back!
Think about it, this is a site for a weeb community. Tons of weebs love UnOrdinary. Why isn't a webtoon that weebs love in this site?

I get it, it's American... Its not "otaku" enough. But you know, I think rules and guidelines can change to the changing world. American doesn't mean DC or Marvel explicitly anymore. I think we should support Western weebs making weeb content for a weeb community as consumers of it.
Similarly, I think this site should support the weeb community. We really like this webtoon so why gatekeep it over strict rules? I might be totally wrong but I'm happy I voiced myself out anyways.

Well to be fair you watch Tower of god, so I’m guessing you read the manwha aswell. Though for me tower of god anime was boring and I read over 60 chapters of tower of god and it still was boring. Though when I say that some will say keep reading until you get to the good part. Same with unordinary. Though it is heavy drama, so if that’s not your thing it’s understandable.

Well actually Uru chan the creator said that Unoridnary is basically a parody of some modern day anime(My hero academia for example)so maybe that why the whole universe doesn’t work for you. I mean it is a vague and generic universe though the characters and what happens in the school is interesting.Well your only chapter 40, and what I can remember nothing major dramatic happens until you keep reading.
If you understand the language the work was published in, or if you can find the official information regarding the work, you can just add it yourself to the database.
Make sure to read the guide on how to add something to AniList.
it's not a manhua it's a webtoon, and that is why it isn't, and won't be on here.
-_- tower of god is here and its webtoon too
tower of god is a NAVER webtoon posted orginally in Korean

Soooo is unordinary the webtoon not on anilist? there's other manwha/webtoon here but unordinary isn't on here and it's like a super popular series for a webtoon. they should have it added here. Anyone agrees who reads unordinary?
Your thread has been merged into an already existing one where it has been addressed, it’s an American webcomic not meeting our eligibility criteria…. And just like TBATE is a very popular OEL, we’re not going to be making exceptions for them to be listed on an Asian media listing site.
You know you can submit entries yourself right

EDIT: Looks like the submission criteria excludes non-professionally published manwha my bad. I guess that's a better answer.
oh shit thanks I didn't know about this. Do you know how fast they change or add the changes?
In this case they'll probably shoot it down pretty quick since it's not professionally published and that's an easy no. If you have something really obscure and there's no info on it online it might sit in submission limbo for weeks
unOrdinary does meet Anilist's criteria for official publication, since it's "Webtoons Originals." Webtoons has a separate section, Canvas, for self-published works. There are plenty of other Webtoons Originals that are accepted on Anilist. And I'm pretty sure unOrdinary even has physical releases now. unOrdinary's issue is country of origin, since it's American, and Anilist doesn't accept American comics
I was sad that Solo Leveling the Korean Light Novel / Web Novel wasn't on here. They like to restrict things on Anilist. I assume WebToon is the same way unless it is wrote by someone in Japan.

Why isn't Chelsey Han's (Uru-chan) Manwha "unOrdinary" in the Anilist database?
It has now been published via Webtoons since September 2016, it has reached 339 chapters (with the last one released today), on November 23 2023 they started printing the first paper volume and the release of the second paper volume is set for July 2 2024
https://anilist.co/forum/thread/8901
It’s an OEL (original English language) Webtoon, not meeting our country of origin or web platform criteria.
