I loved the beginning of the anime (and I was looking forward to it every week), but that enjoyment stopped after the "Raphtalia Development" arc. Meaning, I couldn't care less bout Filo. I felt Filo ruined the show for me. Yeah she's adorable but I'm tired of seeing lolis in isekai. Also got bored with the whole "Who likes Naofumi more?" stuff. I wished it was just Raphtalia. Also liked the judgement episode of Spear and Myne. It had that GoT feel to it. Also the other heroes are so ridiculously useless.
Altogether, its beginning and the court episode were amazing so I give it good marks for that. Also that one psychological scene, between Raphtalia and Naofumi.
I think it was the part bout Raphtalia's freedom That's bout it.
Hmm now that I think about it, I haven't seen a lot of slice of life anime. Now I feel like getting into more slice of life too. Some good ones I've seen:
About 2 brothers training to become astronauts. It's a long journey of episodes about these 2 brothers working to achieve their childhood dreams. But tbh, 99 episodes went really fast. I was really invested in the show.
Space Brothers
Similar to above but a lot shorter. 4 friends on a journey to Antartica.
A Place Further Than the Universe
A little bit of action. About 3 friends playing a sport called karuta. There's romance and some drama as well.
Chihayafuru
hmm...I have a lot of top favorites but the ones I feel are the least watched (among my favorites) are:
Space Brothers
Must Watch:
Assassination Classroom (Amazing shounen imo)
Kaiji (Intense life or death gambling)
Magi (Avatar TLA + Aladdin + Harry Potter)
Psycho Pass (like Terror in Resonance but in police pov)
Hmm...if you want something deep, 2 must watch animes I reccomend :
Monster
MUSHISHI
Emotional Must watch:
March Comes in Like a Lion
Your Lie in April
Truly started watching anime since 2010. But before that was 4kids yugioh and dbz which was 2007 I think but I didn't know what anime was back then.
For manga, it was 4 months ago. Before that I didn't really care for manga unless to read past anime cliffhangers. I also read and bought Shonen Jumps(physical version) back in like 2010. Of course I only read whatever the magazine offered. Does that count?
But I truly got into it after reading Ito Junji's Shiver and later Uzumaki(still reading) at B&N's.
tbh, while it was airing it was like the most popular show and I didnt understand why. I didnt like the premise cuz I'm not a fan of ecchi stuff and I thought this will be full of it but I gave it a try and I loved it. I kept watching and watching but then everything changed when episode 22(I think) attacked, in that one episode.
what was it, episode 22 I think? When they decided to go to space for some reason. That ruined everything for me
One Piece
Def One Piece lol. This ain't gonna end
But seriously, I love my adventure and this show won't have an end of that for awhile.
Yeah but only anime that I have like maybe 2 or so episodes left to complete which were overall boring. I mean, if I have like a quarter of an anime left to watch, I might as well just finish it but I don't like wasting time on stuff I have no interesting watching so I'd just keep it on in the background. No point dropping a show I'm almost done with. You know, shows that were good in the first half but then drags off and loses steam near the end. But most of the time if stuff gets boring or just filler, then I'd just skip through it anyways.
Kaiji Ultimate Survivor
Definitely Kaiji kept me hooked every episode. its a crazy and intense life or death gambling anime. You'll get used to the art, believe me. Its an intense rollercoaster through both seasons.
PSYCHOPASS
another is Psycho Pass. its similar to death note but mainly on the police side fighting terror and corruption of the meaning of justice. Its gory and full of action too.
How bout these:
(Family)
Sweetness Lightning
(WW2 life)
In This Corner of the World
(Love)
Maquia When the Promised Flower Blooms
(Love and Revenge, i think)
Elfen Lied (Warning: Reaally Graphic)
Hmm... I haven't seen much non-anime stuff but I have a lot of favs. But mine would be Game of Thrones, Gravity Falls, 13 Reasons Why, Stranger Things, Avatar TLA, Steven Universe, Rick & Morty, Teen Titans(not GO), and RWBY.
The Avengers and Star Wars too of course.
My top fav I guess would be GoT or Gravity Falls.
Asobi Asobase workshop of fun-/
Others that were 2nd for me were Hinamatsuri, Saiki Kusou, and Konosuba too.
Seikon no Qwaser. I saw its trailer and I saw cool action with superpowers. When I watched it, I regretted it instantly. I'm not a fan of ecchi ever since. I was new to anime back then when I was like 12 so I wanted to try random cool stuff but now I've learned my lesson. Don't trust clickbait trailers, but read the summary and/or reviews before watching an anime. I regret wasting that time watching through the whole episode 1, wondering if there was something redeeming bout the show.
I guess youtube won't allow this level of ecchi to be shown in a trailer so I'm forgiving whoever posted that.
Tbh, season 1 is what I'd recommend only. I recommend watching One Piece over Fairy Tail but I'd recc Fairy Tail if people want something sorta shorter and "kinda" similar(plot/character similarities). I loved season 1(but that was years ago) but I do know it was an enjoyable fun adventure anime. Even the dub was good. Is it worth it? If you want a good adventure, yes but if you want to watch the entire plot of the show unfold, then nah(unless you want to venture to season 2 and beyond). Also lots of "nakama/friendship = power" stuff lol
I liked Fairy Tail until Tenrou arc was finished(which I think was season 1). It was a fun watch. A show setting being like a video game, with the guilds, magic, etc(now there are so much video game isekai). Its fun watching a family of wizards going on adventures. After Tenrou arc, it became repetitive, fanservice increased(which I'm not a fan of), and friendship power. Is it worth it? Yes, if you don't mind ecchi(which should be a tag for this show), the power of nakama being reused over and over, and the usual shounen tropes(deus ex machina, etc..). The magic attacks are cool though. My fav character is MiraJane(Erza is 2nd. Yes, shocking). Oh and the dub is good imo. And the soundtracks too(the main theme is really nostalgic). I still watch FT though, like its final season. Its fun to watch but I guess battles are lacking.
Oh and op 9 and end 11 are the best imo.
Yeah I agree there are some fillers worth watching but too much is bad. I'd rather have a hiatus on a show than see endless filler that isnt canon. I see that there are filler episode(s) used after some big event happened, as a sort of "breather" which is fine but 1 episode only(the obligatory beach/hot springs episode). 1 more and the mood is gone imo. For me, I like to watch anime arcs without breaks so I usually skip those. If I want a break, I turn off my laptop. Plus i dont get the point of recap episodes used during an anime.
