another thing: i dont recommend watching black butler. its a case of an old anime catching up to the manga and having to cook up their own bs instead of waiting.
i started reading the manga and its sm better
you got a great list already, i didnt want to add too many recs since i thought picking from your planning would be better but ill add these for your considiration after you are done with your planning:
looked through your planning and i see that you got most of the greats on there!
aot & fmab are incredible, id say they are on my top 10 anime of all time. be sure to watch those it really is a life changing experience!
link click is personal fav of mine, i love it to bits. another great watch
no one needs so say anything about jojos. its like an anime/manga fans bible. you have to see it.
i didnt see this on your list so ill add it, dororo is so, so good. i didnt see any scores so i dont know how much you like demon slayer, but if you enjoyed it you'll for sure enjoy this one
..and that's just because a lot of female Japanese VAs seem to have really similar and at least moderately high pitched voices...
this is the problem being talked about here. the industry chooses the same kind of voice to impose the idea of "women should be soft spoken/high pitched voices/cutesy way of talking/" there is a lack of diverse and interesting casting, and its not because there arent anything else but because there is an idea being built that this is how it is
Though I gotta ask what were your thoughts on the infamous "sewer" and "Waterloo" chapters that fans seem to always describe as being a slog
im going to be completely honest at some point those sections made me want to gouge my eyes out. The sewer bit is definitely a relic of "paid per the word" policy, and while i do think it is also the reason why the whole waterloo bit was written, that section is more like a sincere rambling of victor hugos feelings towards napoleon, his conquests and a valuable insight to victor hugo's politics which is crucial in a politically charged work like Les Mis. the sewer bit can be taken off but not waterloo.
i have seen the movie! i absolutely adore it... i know most musical and book fans hate it but i dont care. it could be the nostalgia since i checked it out also in 5th grade but as i said, i could not care less. everyones performance is great and the cinematography is wonderful
i read les mis back in 5th grade for the first time, it was the gateway for me going into the french philosophy books of that era and onwards. since then ive read it front to back twice , which is an accomplishment since the book is literally called The Brick by fans lol (i mostly go back to parts or chapters i want to experience again instead of re-reading it fully)
as for It: i..... dont particularly care for it? it came off a bit too goofy than scary imho, but if so many people like it there must be redeeming qualities. Ive read and liked the outsider, misery and the shining more
mirai nikki is a relic of its time. back then (2011-15) it was mostly beloved. ""cringe"" and ""edgy"" were considered cool back then
i chalk it up to people looking back on what they watched as a kid and cringing at the memories of it. i did the same thing but i dont think me personally finding it embarrassing now means its bad (but it might just be the nostalgia talking)
hi hi hi !!!! wishing you a warm welcome to anilist :D
im not that interested in music (besides classical) but your taste seems fire! i looked up the album and listened to a random snippet, it reminded me of tatami galaxy and similarly weird animes lol ^^ adding onto that, i think you might enjoy samurai champloo :)
also i LOVEEE marvel vs capcom games (persona too ofc) peak taste my friend
