Hey, I totally get what you're saying. That happened to me too at some point. I think one of the main reasons anime stops feeling fun is when we kinda fall into a pattern — watching the same kind of shows over and over. Like, if you're always watching stuff with deep plots, complex worldbuilding, tons of mystery or action, it gets mentally exhausting after a while, even if the anime is technically “good.”
One thing that helped me a lot was switching genres from time to time. Try watching something light — a silly comedy, a slice of life, or even a random short anime that doesn't take itself too seriously. Stuff like that can refresh your brain and remind you that anime doesn't always have to be this big emotional or intellectual journey. Sometimes it’s just about having a good laugh or vibing with chill characters.
Also, don’t be afraid to take a short break from anime. Sounds weird, but stepping back for a bit can actually make it fun again when you come back. And if you're feeling stuck, ask for recommendations from friends or try something completely different from what you're used to. There’s a ton of variety out there — maybe you just need that one show to reignite the spark you felt back in 2022.
You still love anime — that’s clear — so don’t stress too much. It’s just a phase, and you’ll find the fun again. ?
