No need to be snarky, Gothic fantasies are well classified into Dark fantasies, they need not be always set in your medieval world. The world building of dark fantasy has dreadful setting and they have some common recurring elements which differentiates them from the Horror genre. That is fantasical elements or work of some supernatural power which gives a great cosmic horror. And the power systems are very darn serious ones. Unlike their other fantasy counterparts. I hope you understand.
