Yeah, I think so. I have zero knowledge of folklore stuff and minimal of spiritual stuff, and did not feel lost at all.

Bro you can never go wrong with release date order.
Monogatari is about a guy helping his (girl)friends deal with spirits/apparitions that latch onto and feed off of their personal, emotional, psychological issues, drawing several parallels between spiritualism and folklore with the human psyche. Also very good, fluid dialogue and debates between the characters. Good writing and comedy.
