The storyline generally remained the same but light novel fans will literally do everything they can to let you know they read the light novel

Yeah I guess the main story line goes 1-3, and then 6 or you can do 7-8 if you really hate yourself. I feel like it’s important to know the rivalry between the Brando family and Joestar family going into part 6 and not so much the characters.

Not a single person who appears comes back except for Jotaro who only got 1 min screen time. it's perfectly safe to skip if you want to watch part 6 honestly same with part 4 no one comes back except for jotaro. You can watch 1-3 and then 6 and your watching experience won't suffer.

I think they’re asking if they should not to mention part 5 doesn’t play any part to the entire story so you don’t really need to watch it to enjoy part 6 THOUGH I have a feeling DP will bring back the entire main cast for that one scene at the end
