I haven't read the manga yet, but it must've been pretty good if you're going to watch the second season. Now I kinda have big hopes ngl.

Personally, I'm super excited I loved season one.

Tbh any dumb Otome game, Isekai is my bread and butter.

I personally would say no. Since I feel as if the story is not consistent in Darling In The Franxx, they randomly add things in the middle of the show. But again that's just how I personally feel you should just watch it for yourself because everybody has different views and opinions. On literally everything so you should just go check out the first few episodes, and see how you feel about the show. Then you could just go from there to continue watching it or not.

Also, Darling In The Franxx and Evangelion have the same over arcing notions/concepts, but I feel that's not enough to watch one or the other just because you like one of them. Since they really aren't the same or even a part of the same story. Due to other parts of the shows making them fairly different in my opinion.
