Dragonball isn't known for its complex story but without knowing character relationships, worldbuilding and power scaling, you will miss a lot of details and some aspects might be confusing. I think you will be able to follow the story, but i would recommend to watch at least some summary vids on youtoube before or play DBZ Kakarot, if you don't have time to watch the whole anime or read the manga before you start with Daima.
