Otaku no Video
It just mixes all that i love about anime:

• its a old-school Gainax Production
• character designs is done by Kenichi Sonoda, one of the most talented artists ever
• its a whole of fun
• the fake interviews of otakus are a nice stylistic choice

Overall its crazy fun, and perfectly showcase the otaku livestyle of the 80s, some bits about the creation of Gainax, and is filled with references that even some seasonal watcher could get (lots of Lupin cameos)

a really fun 2 episode OVA from Gainax of their Pre-Evangelion days
the fiirst in the lines of "Otaku Culture" Anime, and amazing character design by Kenichi Sonoda (Gunsmith Cats)

It also gives a few nods to Gainax's creation, while being 100% fiction, even if real events are involved (the crowds in theaters to see the Macross Movie, the most expensive anime movie of the time!)

its fun, interesting, and extremely well made
