I know, i was just saying minus signs as an example, not literally saying they have them. The addition buttons being hidden being a normal thing doesn't make it less cumbersome.

I mean in the lists that is possible...though I guess yeah lots of anime/manga in watching/reading makes that difficult...~

Desktop mostly, mobile usually freezes the endless scrolling until you prompt it.

EDIT: i realized i have a different problem on the home page. That being, it's tricky to add an episode or whatever, cause i have the covers on view before i have the arrows/plus and minus signs/etc.

as a side note, i wish i could see what people were currently watching/reading on their profile, if only in a text format without the covers.

the first one is clarified for me, no worries heh. i thought it meant total runtime of a show, like giving a number of minutes for all the episodes combined.

the second one: i just want it clarified on my profile. i understand if this is just a me thing, but i am annoyed at media being classified by where it debuted not how it was made. again, me thing, so no worry if declined.

1) does it refer to episode/part/chapter count or just total length of the show?

2) i mean, it's just tricky to group things that aren't really that much alike, medium-wise, in the same category. there's a lot of shorts/PVs grouped as movies because they came from film festivals and a good amount of movies labelled OVAs/ONAs because they weren't first aired in a cinema. i don't get why the old system is needed.

3) well, the nicknames are for differentiation. as for consistency, characters typically keep their respective nicknames across different incarnations.

You have a point re: lists, and i actually didn't know about the donator thing haha. I do wish there was an option to turn off endless scrolling, but i get that's probably difficult to impossible to implement

I understand wanting accurate, comprehensive information. The accuracy part isn't really true since we don't provide much sourcing to cast lists to end users, but i digress:

I'd say, if you follow my idea, to put dub producers in the "staff/ company" sections. Sorta like how actors are separated by language, have localization staff operate similarly. And that includes various companies involved.
It doesn't really need to be in any order. Obviously actual prominence and releases would be the best guides, but it could just be any. The point is to not make hundreds of "[Language]-[Insert Dub Producer Here]" pages for cast lists, when many shows/movies have 2 dubs at the very most.
Well, what about shows that have one dub, probably will only have one dub, but still are done by a noted dub producer (a la Funimation)? Do you just make it English-Funimation in this hypothetical, or do you leave off the dub producer despite them working as much on that dub as others?

Because there’s a large large amount of different dub producers and it isn’t worth crediting them each and every time in the cast section rather than the staff info. By contrast, most shows/movies have no more than 4 dubs in a language, if there’s a dub at all. The enumeration lists a separate dub for a work, i’m not proposing just calling dub producers numbers.

I really don’t see the complication aspect tho, may you explain that part?

Also your listings of dub creators isn’t wholly accurate. The dub producer (Bang Zoom! Entertainment, Studiopolis, Blue Water Studios, etc.) should be credited more than anyone, not the licensor (Netflix, Manga Video, Geneon, etc). That’s not getting into licensors making the dub themselves or commissioning two different dubs.

Yep. There’s a hundred ish studios responsible for various dubs, but rarely has it been more than 4 dubs a work.

It’s also worth noting some things could get redubbed or have an alternate dub uncovered. And that some shows have one dub but with a studio listed like Funimation or Bang Zoom! Entertainment.

Netflix also isn’t a dub producer, they’re a licensor. They pay other people to make dubs. Only a few companies do things in-house. And even then, ADV Films had TWO in-house dub producers in their heyday.
