I wouldn't call Cossette no Shouzou "Shinbou when he was a baby director." At that stage in his career he is a fully fledged experienced director who has very well carved out his own style, and the OVA serves as his swan song before vanishing from the world of actual directing to carrying out the mentorship role we have seen from him at Shaft for the past 15 years. Baby Shinbou would mainly refer to the mid-90s J.C. Staff era, starting with Metal Fighter Miku up until Detatoko Princess, where he is still in the process of figuring out how he is going to use his style that he really founded episode directing/storyboarding on Yu Yu Hakusho. Tenamonya Voyagers, SoulTaker, and Cossette really serve as the purest and most refined examples of Shinbou's style that you will find outside of his alternative works.
