Hey @TripelK super awesome you are doing this! I really loved Beck Mongolian Chop Squad
If you are still making banners, I would appreciate it if you could make a banner for me on that theme! Not sure what resolution but I'm seeing that 1700px is pretty common so let's go with that! Not too sure what color scheme would would work well for it though.
Like 70% of isekai ever to come out. There are some good ones. But most of them are utterly pointless. You see one you have seen all of them (in the 70%). The writing is usually below average, its hard to connect with the characters, and the same damn plot happens over and over without any deviation. Adding a new element isn't a twist if it has the same result as any other twist (unnecessarily OP). But there are a couple of good ones. You should watch those. How do you know the difference? Well for one, there will be a difference.
I haven't been so heavily invested in an anime for such a long time. Super unique and masterfully written series. The coolest part to me was how it took advantage of the medium in such an interesting way! The plot twist was great! Definitely a standout not in just this season but for the year. I hope it stays in the recommendation lists for future... it certainly will stay in mine.
Gonna have to strongly disagree with @yor0zuya here. That being said music is subjective so if you don't like it that's totally fair. I would say the music really nailed the niche it was aiming for. Heck it got me to start thinking about songwriting and started playing the guitar even more than usual. Every now and then I rewatch to get reinspired and captivated by music again. If you look into it a lot of the songs were written by beat crusaders who are like exactly the kind of band that Beck is. I mean ofc the singing isn't that amazing as the anime hypes it up to be but its pretty dang nice and if some voice like that existed the person with it probably doesn't care to be voicing an anime lol. My music theory is kinda shaky but the point is if you like how it sounds that's all that really matters. There are a lot of things that can be grasped intuitively without knowing the vernacular.
I'd recommend listening to japanese rock from that time period and judge for yourself though. I really think the anime nailed the soundtrack but its just my opinion. It was a time were american rock had a really strong influence so a lot of bands were trying to replicate that sound with their own awesome flair.
Also not relevant but in the movie taira plays slap bass and its hype as fuck:
I just think it needs more love.
Also check out more beat crusaders stuff. I listen to DROOG IN A SLUM regularly lmao. This ended up being a lot longer than intended sorry about that.
@YellowCheese
I want to say your Gundam entry but I don't generally like watching mecha so I have not seen it. Therefore I cannot really criticize it. From what I have seen I would have to say Star Blazers 2199
But in all honesty I liked it, just my least favorite of the other ones I have seen.
I will always recommend spirit circle - it needs more love:
Spirit Circle
^I really want an anime adaptation of this SO BAD
I also recommend:
Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer
Bastard
Holyland
20th Century Boys
21st Century Boys
Billy Bat
Ok basically anything from Naoki Urasawa and Satoshi Mizukami
