At first, I was totally hyped but also super confused when I saw there's Gate 2 and Gate Season 2...
I was so ready to finally see Emroy’s reaction to Rory’s “betrayal,” Lelei doing big brain research on the Gate to keep the connection alive, or diving deep into the lore to figure out when they should pull back...
But now I’m like, is this still gonna feel like true Gate, or are we heading straight into military Monster Musume territory? :(
The theater that appeared in the anime will unfortunately be closing at the end of this year... Interestingly, it had 1,314 seats. The audience sits on a massive rotating platform in the center, while the stage, images, music, and lighting dynamically change around them. It was the first theater of its kind in Asia since 2017.
I expected something different than fulfilling the author's fantasies.
I hoped it would focus on the issue of obesity and serve as a push for people who suffer from being overweight. I'm considering dropping it or hoping it will change, but I don't really believe in that change.
I was looking forward to it, but my expectations were completely different.
You can't control your heart, Yamada clearly wasn't interested in boys until she started dating our MC; it's not that he's so OP, but he just caught her eye, and it grew into something more. It's completely logical that she dumped her previous senpai because she wasn't interested in any relationships until it changed within her. So, I don't really have a problem with that. But I understand your assessment. I agree that I expected the Father to be more protective, but I feel like he had a very long leash and a greater focus on games than on his family.
I might have written this before, but I wished for the anime to end with them confessing their feelings and starting to date. I don't need it to escalate physically, and I'm glad it didn't. However, as soon as they moved to another class with new characters, I was immediately intrigued in such a way that I wish it would continue. But in my opinion, the whole concept must change; the main characters need to take a step back and let other characters take the lead, where, of course, we can also observe any potential further problems of the main characters, but it shouldn't be the primary focus. I don't believe the next series would achieve such incredible success, but I'm very interested to see if they make it in the future, and I will definitely be eagerly anticipating it.
I think I understand what you're getting at with the subgenre 'School Idol falls for the biggest outsider.' Yes, it's highly improbable, but it's just a basic premise; it depends on how it's handled. Many anime with this premise end up being subpar; the chemistry between characters doesn't work, there's little to no character development. However, I can say that I consider it one of the best romances I've seen. The MC's progress was fantastic, swift, and, most importantly, its conclusion doesn't attempt to create an endless series. So many romances are needlessly drawn out, but here it was realistically brisk and incredibly enjoyable; I savored each episode.
Because I do not like artificially prolonged romances, I was hoping that this series would be the last, as continuing to extend this "platonic" love at their age towards physical aspects seems to me like pulling a fast one, even though the show is good. However, this episode broke something in me; I want another season because the characters they introduced are really interesting. Even if I would slightly push the main couple into the background in favor of new characters, including Hanoka and Kenta. In summary, if another season were to come out, my feelings of disappointment would turn into excitement just because of this episode.
