__Hard Mode:__ The total runtime of all anime you watch added together must be a minimum of __1500 minutes__.

You can check the total runtime of completed anime using our [time checking tool](https://awc.nymh.moe/listtime)!
Note: The anime must have finished airing for the checker to work. It may not work for anime that recently finished airing

You can watch each anime at __any time__ during June, but you must submit your completed challenge before the deadline
You __can__ use any number of anime from other challenges as long as they allow sharing
You __cannot__ use an anime you started watching or rewatching before June

You may use longer shows to fulfill multiple requirements within this challenge

Anime with **20 episodes** or more may be used to fulfill up to **2 requirements**
Anime with **30 episodes** or more may be used to fulfill up to **3 requirements**

You can fulfill a **maximum of 3 requirements per anime**
There is no limit to the number of anime that can be used to fulfill multiple requirements
You **can** use a rewatched anime to fulfill multiple requirements
You **must** state the anime for each requirement you use it for

You may rewatch __one__ anime for this challenge

You must state if you rewatched an anime in your challenge post
Rewatches __must__ be [correctly logged on AniList](https://i.imgur.com/WqrY9qV.png) to count

To log a rewatch, set an anime to rewatching and increment the episodes via the Anime In Progress panel on the AniList home page
An activity showing the episodes as rewatched will appear in your feed. For movies and anime with only 1 episode, the activity will show the anime as completed.

You cannot use speed watching to complete this challenge
Speed watching is watching an anime at 2x speed / 3x speed, etc. This goes against the spirit of AWC challenges.
You cannot use anime with the format “Music”
Your activity must include the start and end dates, which can be added in the AniList List Editor
Your profile must be set to public so we can verify your anime list and activity

AWC Discord Monthly Simul Club

Every month we will be simul-watching a couple of shows that fulfil some of the requirements for the Monthly Challenge!
Simul-watching is watching the same show with other members of the community at the same time
We currently have two groups that watch at region-friendly times for North America and Europe, but everyone is welcome to join either

Escaflowne (Europe)

We will be watching Tenkuu no Escaflowne for June. Some of you may already be familiar with its creator Shouji Kawamori (Creator of Macross and prolific Mechanical Designer), but most will only be familiar with the star-studded composer duo of Yoko Kanno (Cowboy Bebop, GitS SAC, Macross Plus) and Mizoguchi Hajime (Jin-Roh, Texhnolyze). This time around, rather than pitch it to you, here is a quote of the original pitch by the creator himself:

Shoji Kawamori first proposed the series after a trip to Nepal, during which he visited the foggy mountain region and pictured a hidden world where an epic focusing on both fate and divination should be set. When he returned, he proposed the series to Bandai Visual and Sunrise. According to Kawamori, his pitch for the series was simple: "if Macross was robotic mecha and love songs, why not a story about robotic mecha and divining powers?" He worked with Bandai producer Minoru Takanashi to finish fleshing out the original idea. They researched various mysteries for inspiration, particularly stories centered on the mythical land of Atlantis and the Bermuda Triangle.

Knights & Magic & El Hazard: The Magnificent World

We will be starting off June with a bang with Knights & Magic, a Mecha anime that differs from what you may have seen due to its Fantasy elements. This anime is directed by Yusuke Yamamoto at Eight Bit, with scripts written by Michiko Yokote, and music composed by Masato Kōda, who also did the music for the beloved Isekai series, Konosuba!

We will be following on with El Hazard: The Magnificent World, an anime that is noteworthy for being one of the first anime to have an English dub cast that is considered superior to their Japanese sub original. In fact, Hayashi and other members of the AIC production team consider the English cast to be the definitive voices of the characters, far superior to their Japanese counterparts! Surely you must be curious now in checking it out.
