__Hard Mode:__ The total runtime of the anime you watch for the 10 requirements added together must be a minimum of __1500 minutes__.

You can calculate the total duration of completed anime by multiplying the episode duration by the number of episodes
Add together the total duration of each anime to find the runtime of your challenge

You can watch each anime at __any time__ during December, but you must submit your completed challenge before the deadline

The anime you watch __must__ be [correctly logged on AniList](https://i.imgur.com/pYHuyM6.png) to count

To log watched episodes, set an anime to watching and increment the episodes via the Anime In Progress panel on the AniList home page
An activity showing the episodes as watched will appear in your feed. For movies and anime with only 1 episode, the activity will show the anime as completed.

You __can__ use any number of anime from other challenges as long as they allow sharing
You __cannot__ use an anime you started watching or rewatching before December

You may use longer shows to fulfil multiple requirements within this challenge

Anime with **20 episodes** or more may be used to fulfil up to **2 requirements**
Anime with **30 episodes** or more may be used to fulfil up to **3 requirements**

You can fulfil a **maximum of 3 requirements per anime**
There is no limit to the number of anime that can be used to fulfil multiple requirements
You **can** use a rewatched anime to fulfil multiple requirements
You **must** state the anime for each requirement you use it for

You may rewatch __one__ anime for this challenge

You must state if you rewatched an anime in your challenge post
Rewatches __must__ be [correctly logged on AniList](https://i.imgur.com/WqrY9qV.png) to count

To log a rewatch, set an anime to rewatching and increment the episodes via the Anime In Progress panel on the AniList home page
An activity showing the episodes as rewatched will appear in your feed. For movies and anime with only 1 episode, the activity will show the anime as completed.

You cannot use speed watching to complete this challenge
Speed watching is watching an anime at 2x speed / 3x speed, etc. This goes against the spirit of AWC challenges.
You cannot use anime with the format “Music”
Your watching activity must be visible on your profile — This includes all episode progress and an activity showing each anime as completed
Your activity must include the start and end dates, which can be added in the AniList List Editor
Your profile must be set to public so we can verify your anime list and activity

AWC Discord Monthly Simul Club

Every month we will be simul-watching a couple of shows that fulfil some of the requirements for the Monthly Challenge!
Simul-watching is watching the same show with other members of the community at the same time
We currently have two groups that watch at region-friendly times for North America and Europe, but everyone is welcome to join either
So come and join us each month, and help to complete your challenge in the process!

Gankutsuou (Europe)

The next EU simulwatch has been decided on. We will be watching Gankutsuou for the upcoming month of December. The show is loosely(!) based on the classic novel The Count of Monte Cristo written by Alexandre Dumas and directed by Mahiro Maeda, one of the most prolific artists to be lesser known overseas having worked as Key Animator for many of Studio Ghibli's features (Castle in the Sky, Porco Rosso) and having contributed iconic designs to cult classics such as Neon Genesis Evangelion and Escaflowne. He also directed two of the entries of the anthology The Animatrix: The Second Renaissance Part 1 and 2.

Little Witch Academia (North America)

Originally a short film created for the Young Animator Training Project's Anime Mirai (this same year also produced Death Billiards), its success went on to spawn a sequel movie (The Enchanted Parade) and a 25 episode full series, which we'll be watching.

Clubs, Games, Quizzes & More...

Check out the AWC Discord server for even more events throughout December. We have new clubs, games, quizzes, movie simulwatches, manga simulreading, AMQ, Jackbox, Among Us, Mahjong, and a challenge-making workshop to finally finish! As always, you can join the Cute Boys Club and the Cute Girls Club to discuss your favourite characters, and the Idol Research Club will also be continuing to host group watches of live idol concerts and events. A new club will also be hosting some Christmas movie simuls, and the Food Club will be cooking up a couple of delicious events to help get you into the holiday spirit!
As a reminder: The AWC Discord will be voting for their Anime of the Year 2020 soon - simply head over to the AWC server and complete the upcoming poll if you want to take part. The winning anime will be announced as part of the Staff Picks & AOTY 2020 Challenge, which will release around Christmas. In anticipation of the challenge, just like last year, the AWC Staff will be sharing some of their favourite anime that they have watched this year via the Staff Picks 2020 Advent Calendar.
