I remained, not out of fear, but because crime scenes speak, and I must listen to what this room has for me.
While I decided to stay and take a look at the room, some others decided to investigate the areas and rooms around the crime scene.

The room seemed still… too still...
The body was too perfectly centered, the blade neatly embedded in it bordered on theatrical, but something was… off.
The floor creaked differently near the wardrobe, not loud, just enough to capture my attention. I stepped lightly — once, twice — then stopped, and I decided to kneel.

Dust had settled over the room uniformly, except for that one corner. Barely visible fingerprints on the handle, despite the claim that these rooms registered individual access. If no one else could get in… how?
Suddenly, while I was checking the area, we were told to exit the room by the staff, and as I did, I glanced once more at the lifeless twin; he looked cold as marble and strangely calm at the same time… The mystery had only begun to whisper through this room.

The group was very efficient and collected in dealing with the situation. It was decided to assemble everyone in the main hall and assign guards to the crime scene to preserve it.

Shortly after collecting everyone in the main hall, a small group in charge of collecting evidence was quickly organised. Unfortunately, I was not picked to be part of it, but at least every cloud has a silver lining. While the investigation party went to the room with the body, I could converse with some colleagues about the situation at hand, managing to grab some interesting intel.

Apparently, the von Geheimnis family has always been one of the most influential families in the country, but it started disappearing from the public eye a dozen or so years ago, when tragedy struck.
During a leisure cruise on a private yacht, the vessel capsized, resulting in the death of the whole crew and family. The sole survivor was a young, 8 year old boy, the son of the wealthy Count. The bodies of the father, mother and twin brother were never found…

Not long before the investigative party returned, having collected all the necessary information, they began quickly and neatly showcasing it.

The room presented nothing out of the ordinary, apart from the obvious body lying in the midst of it. Despite having brought down the door forcibly, nothing unusual was found on the lock or on the mechanism responsible for unlocking doors.
The body had a visible sharp blade stuck in the chest, and, without further tests on the body, one could reasonably assume that the inflicted wound was also the fatal one. And that pretty much concluded the most apparent hints on the crime scene.

With so many people gathered in one location, it would be extremely hard to trace everyone's alibis. Not to mention the twin suddenly disappearing and the shadowy figure quickly leaving the crime scene. And to tie everything together, the locked room, almost as if mocking us, a staple of mystery novels, presents itself before us.

Hm… I still have my doubts about it, but after all… Yes, that could be it; it would explain everything.
