I love the psychological genre(even better if dementia and horror is paired with it). I love shows where it involves lots of thinking.
I also love drama with fantasy
I like comedy too (with no romance).
My least liked genre would be ecchi/harem. I really dont like ecchi unless theres good story. Same with harem. I dislike lovey dovey romance with no drama.
hmm depends on the viewer. I know for me I dropped Gintama like 3 or 4 times just cuz I couldn't get into the first 30-ish episodes but my friends kept praising it so I decided to keep watching and sooner or later, I got used to its comedy style and I loved it. I liked the fights but at the same time, I didn't care much bout its story, which I know I know, its good but I watched it for the comedy mainly.
I guess as others have said, it could be due to overhype?
I mean I remember when season 1 first came out and it surpised me how even people who think anime is weird or never heard of anime before were talking bout it. The 1st time I heard bout AoT was from non-anime fans themselves. It was that popular and when I watched it, it was really good. It still is for me to this day. I guess some people arent fans of its "tone shift" or whatever, deviating from all its og fanfare and action, which I understand. Its different now. But I still enjoy it tho.
I remembered enjoying SAO all the way to GGO. But I guess back then I was new to anime and isekai shows so this was like the 1st isekai I've seen. It was amazing seeing a game world in anime. I guess it'd be good if you havent seen isekai. Nowadays, I can't stand watching Kirito. It was the 1st sorta harem I've seen so the romance started to get bland for me. As others have mentioned, there are "questionable" scenes, especially in s2 I believe. But the main thing I loved bout SAO was the animation and especially the music. I loved op 2(even tho being the infamous elf arc). So like try s1 and if you wanna see more of this plot and a harem, then continue with it. Kirito eventually became boring later on for me. S1 I remember enjoying it a lot.
Tbh, I had wished it was just Kirito and Asuna. Like them being an awesome duo. When a harem was introduced, thats when I started losing interest.
As others have said, it may seem frightening now, but you may find something in life even more worthwhile(not that anime isn't worthwhile), and once you get to that point, it may not feel as frightening.
Believe me, I had these exact thoughts before but here I am now, never imagined myself to land a job 1 1/2 yrs after getting my degree during start of covid. I'm just more excited about my future now. I still watch anime time to time but not as often anymore. Maybe it will soon stop one day for me but anime will always be a part of who I am.
Honestly, idk why I watched To Love Ru. It was one of the earliest anime I've seen, mixed with a bunch of other random anime I checked out back then. Actually, I don't like ecchi at all unless the plot is good but after 7 eps, I felt it had nothing but ecchi and dropped it. But I have heard a lot of good things bout the show and how popular it is. Especially the character designs so maybe I will continue watching it to check out this sexy kuudere. This could even convince me to check out Highschool DxD as well.
@Adox Hmmm....I see you have Bakemonogatari and Durarara in your dropped list. Everyone has their own tastes, I know, but Bake and Durarara get so much better later on. I actually dropped Bake so many times but after sitting through its dialogue through multiple seasons, I started loving it(I hated ecchi and harem but I accepted it cuz of how much I loved the show). Its what got me to appreciate heavy dialogue shows like Tatami Galaxy.
Kinda reminded me of the Avengers where its a series you can piece together like a puzzle to understand everything. I love shows like this.
Durarara is same cuz by keeping up with its dialogue, mysteries unfold and bunch of plot twists are waiting for you.
The scene in March Comes in Like A Lion season 2 where:
When Hina helped a bullied friend but then she gets bullied by her whole class who were once her friends. She kept a smile all the time but the moment she broke down before Rei, it got me to cry.
Others: In this Corner of the World, AC s2, and Made in Abyss
(Made in Abyss spoiler):That scene in MiA when that slime girl was put out of her misery and the whole dungeon full of them. That was heart wrenching.
Well first Akame is the name of one of my favorite characters. Idk why but at that time when AGK came out, I really liked her design. (But its been years now and I've been meaning to change it. I use this username a lot). "Z" is just there cuz it sounds cool like "Dragon Ball Z". And "16" means 2016, it was like a special year for me. Lot of stuff happened.
My favs:

Fav Opening would be:
Bleach op 15- Harukaze
Idk why but everytime i hear this op, it hits me in the feels cuz its the last op of Bleach. The song is amazing too. Brings me so much nostalgia as my 1st anime too.
Close 2nd would be Bleach op 10- Shoujo S
Fav Ending would be:
Bleach end 18- Sky Chord
I think I liked this one cuz of the song and Orihime focus. Orihime was actually my first anime crush. Yeah she was a ditz but some reason I liked her.
yeah same with me. I remember watching that many episodes daily. Now, its like 2-3 episodes weekly(only catching up with the currently airing stuff like One Piece, etc...). Idk what happened. Nowadays, I can't find much anime that interests me to sit down and watch anymore. But imo, its not so bad tho. I guess when we grow and gain more and more priorities and find even more fun and worthwhile stuff to do(not that watching anime wasn't fun), it becomes hard to catch up with anime. I guess nowadays I'm slowly getting into a bit more manga now(tho limited).
For One Piece? Yes but its worth it. I somehow caught up to episode 700-ish. Now I'm fully caught up. I skipped all the fillers and yeah, I missed out on a lot of character backgrounds but I just looked them up on its Wiki.
Fairy Tail? 1st season was amazing.
But for me, it depends on my mood and schedules. Rn, I don't have time to watch much besides catch up on whatever is airing (if its good so far. I don't have time for slow build up) cuz final semester and all. On free days, I usually watch bigger completed animes and if its good, that's all I'll watch till I'm done. Like Diamond no Ace. I like sports anime so I get hooked on it till I'm done with it. I take on around 3-4 anime and rest 70% are airing shows.
For me its 1-2 anime daily, excluding seasonal shows(which are plenteous when it comes to catching up). I guess also it depends on my moods. Once I complete an anime and I loved it, I don't want to watch anything else, fearing it may ruin the enjoyment feeling I had. Its hard to keep a short watching list since my moods keep changing. One day I want to watch something serious, the next something comedic, etc..
I'm watching LoGH rn. I'm loving it so far but I also feel like starting on Demon Slayer, cuz it looks like a fun watch. But, after ep 2, I still have that feeling to watch politics and war instead of action(Demon Slayer is good, but LoGH caught my interest more). Now I'm hooked on LoGH so its gonna be 1 anime for awhile(110 ep).
The 1st anime I've seen before I knew what anime was was Pokemon 2000. And then Yugioh, DBZ Kai, Sonic X, Howl's Moving Castle, etc...
During my middle school days, my friend and I would go to the library to play computer games after school and introduced me to SuperSmashFlash2. I played as Ichigo and he looked pretty awesome. My friend told me he was Ichigo from an anime called Bleach and thus, I learned what anime was. Our library back then would sell Shounen Jumps there too so we'd buy it for like $0.25. Ah, those were the good ol' days...
Hmm...besides DBZ and the other 4kids stuff I didn't know were anime, the first was Bleach. My 2nd one was Elfen Lied for some reason and my poor 10 yo eyes were scarred after that(I watched it cuz I thought the cover looked cool and I was into cool superpowers and stuff. From then, I learned to always watch the trailers and read the tags and summary first). I watched it till the end just for completion after that and the story was cool too.
And the ending made me cry too even though I sorta skipped the graphic parts
Of course I watched it again when I was older and I really enjoyed it.
