The reason it's so low is because it has the same flaws as most other comedy anime.
I think this kind of comedy is better enjoyed in manga form than anime form, the comedic timing just feels wrong in anime format.
For comedy to succeed in anime you either need really good voice performance and/or visual comedy to accompany the joke. Good examples of that are Konosuba, grand blue and kaguya sama.
Yeah it's mostly the show art's style.
I loved the manga and when reading it the panels were so well drawn and arranged that you could see the movement in it.
I think CG should be used for crowd movements or other mostly unnoticable things.
Or use it differently like in houseki no kuni from studio orange, seeing what they did with houseki no kuni I'm excited to see their beastar adaptation (loved the manga)
So my beef is that for some reason they couldn't convey the original manga feeling.
Meanwhile Doga Kobo did well with danberu.
Made In Abyss is my n°1 pick because I loved the manga and they did a good job recreating its atmosphere.
In second I would place Princess principal which suprised in many good ways.
I also like kakegurui, the ambiance and the characters' faces makes me think about the danganronpa games.
Fate/apocrypha lives up to his hype and Gamers! made me laugh several times.
I didn't read ballroom e youkoso manga but i really like the anime and look forward to the next episodes.
Other than that i also watch keppeki danshi Aoyama-kun, Knights and magic and "Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e" which looks like a child from danganronpa and Oregairu.
